Afrihost CAPPED ADSL Feedback (MTN)

Afrihost, How about just flat out admitting that your network has not been performing correctly since the switch over, I keep seeing the status network fully operational but it never really is, at least its not been for me since the switch.

I can understand that you are frustrated, and that your service may be less than awesome. But the network is not collapsing and dying, we've got many clients getting service they are happy with. I'm currently browsing and emailing, got torrents running at almost line speed (on a capped account at the moment).

I think with all the issues of late, it's easy to assume the network must be falling over. But from the volume of queries I've been dealing with, there are still the normal ADSL issues like faulty lines, bad routers or routers reset to default settings and old ISP accounts. We have to go into the merits of each query and troubleshoot, otherwise an issue which has been misdiagnosed can sit for ages while the rest of the network is humming along smoothly.

So in short, PM me, let's get you some assistance to find where the problem is :)
 
Wow post got deleted fast. Just want to say my Afrihost Top-Up capped account which was not cancelled yet is also experiencing bad speed.. But don't worry helping me, I just logged onto it for a laugh.

I thought let me try what Afriman said and topped up on my afrihost account , and last night it was hell yeah not so bad ....come right now and its K @ K again ????



And this test was on MTN :mad: Oh a 10meg line


Edit --- But to be fair --- Openweb and Telkom just as K @ K right now

i finally had enough of this Afrihost crap. I sent an email to this AfriMan clown, explaining the problems I am experiencing. I get a reply about how sorry they are, even the CEO is so sorry, blah blah....
Then is says:
Can you give me an idea of what you are currently experiencing? If your service is still unsatisfactory, our priority support team can assist you with this urgently.

A massive, clear indication that they didn't even bother reading my original email, which describes the problems I am having. Just a copy & paste response, wasting more time and making me have to repeat myself. What a load of crap.
Just issued my cancellation via the client zone. Missed the 25th cut off by a few days, I don't care anymore, I'd pay them just to fk off!

I also hate that! DSTV is famous (in my books) for doing that. I am having an issue with them at present.

Im in the same boat came back for a week and it was kinda OK ...yesterday the K @ K started again ....so now im Openweb to to hell with this lot ....MTN is known for crap service, so why they choose to kill Afihost only they will know :mad:

If your primary concern is that ^^^^, over and above your shocking customer service, lack of ability to read & reply to a support request email properly and ultimately losing a customer of several years, you're getting off lightly with "clown" :confused:

When are personal insults ever justified or productive when dealing with a client/provider relationship?
 
I trying to get session info on my ADSL connection. There is a lag in the client zone info update

Internet Solutions had a separate website that an ADSL customer could log on to to get up to date session info. Your ADSL credentials were used to log onto the website.

Is there a similar webpage on the MTN network.

It is a capped account BTW

Justified, well, that's subjective. Productive, no, not really productive, but they ignored every attempt at making a productive effort at resolving the issue when the relationship was still client/provider. I'm over productive, they had the opportunity for that and kicked it back in my face. I'm no longer a client so that's not a factor.

A clown is a comic performer, exactly the experience I've had with this chappie, lots of "performing" that's just made me laugh.

so here is a thought.

at the time of your message you used three different networks

- telkom
- afrihost (mtn)
- openweb (IS)

and all three gave you problems with relating to speed. what are the chances that three networks are having the same issue (at that time), given that they route differently local & international, make use of different shaping/throttling/qos/insert_latest_buzzword, and so on.

maybe your specific issue, lie elsewhere.

but like i said, its just a thought.

I'm sure you're a very nice person, but posting insults wastes my time, and prevents other people from getting the help they need through forums and threads like this. If you want to start a thread of your own, you're most welcome. But if you're not a client anymore, not using our products, then I don't see what purpose you are serving other than being vindictive.
 
My apologies, I should have been clearer. Although I have given notice of cancellation and will soon not be your client, I remain a client until 31/12/2012 due to missing the 25th of the month notice deadline. So, until then, you've got my money & I am your client. My expectations for the following 30 odd days are not very high, based on the poor product and service I have received from you thus far.
Your concern about your time and where it's spent is laughable. You are more interested & are spending more time in responding to this crap than you ever actually spent in reading or addressing the concerns I had, that ultimately lead to all this. If your concern was genuinely for your customer, we wouldn't be here.
Lastly, this is an Afrihost Capped ADSL Feedback thread to which I am quite entitled to post my comments and feedback on my experience with Afrihost.
 
get a refund and move. they were giving people refunds

Hahaha funny joke :D I cancelled on the 7th November because of non stop cr@ppy speeds since the 1st of November and was told blah blah Use / Don't use.. Not our problem no refund and please f@#$ck off from our threads. xD

Just saying these guys won't see a cent from me or anyone I know or meet in the future.

Word of mouth advertising is great... :D so is negative advertisment as well.
