We expect the demand to ease later as Fridays and weekends are generally quiet on our network.
Yes historically it works that way. But unfortunately AF is also historically wrong about this issue. Been there done that.

So You saying you are doing a Shieght job of managing your network. Thanks for the admission.

No, that's not what I'm saying. Axxess have a portion of our network for their clients. How they utilise it is up to them.

Really? That is not how I see it. Last year I had the same argument, but then it was about a UNCAPPED acc NOT a CAPPED acc. Dont think your uncapped acc got back to the promised GLORY days of before after last years Software updates that broke your network.

Problem is I excepted that uncapped is not sustainable therefore I bought CAPPED as I was promised it does not get Shaped. All it took was another software update to proof that wrong.

Afriman did you read this post I send to AfriGuy, reply from TelkomZA, about the same statement you are just making.
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/473778-Afrihost-CAPPED-ADSL-Feedback-(MTN)?p=13559806&viewfull=1#post13559806

This is the unedited Version.
Morning Jannie

Can at least shed some light but do not agree with the response from Afrihost, the fault is between their access provider MTN and SAIX/IPNet.

Now for the details - DSlam was cutover to a new ESR on Friday, the new ESR (BNG - Alcatell) does not respond to the ICMP request so the hop will just show stars It is however not a problem)

Now what Afrihost is suppose to do is ask MTN why is my CPT client routing to your JHB IPC instead of telling you to phone Telkom...

New BNG address - wblv-ip-bng-2 , Afrihost/MTN should log a ticket to IPNet, the IPC provider to rectify the routing

Suspect the sluggish response could be due to the increased route towards the Jhb IPC and maybe even causing the link to congest.

Let me know if I can be of more assistance.

We had a previous issue where clients on an MSAN we being routed strangely. We logged this several times with MTN but in the end it was an issue that had to be changed on Telkom's side, to do with their routing and IP allocations :(

I haven't had any issues since switching to capped from uncapped a few months back, but the past 2 days P2P is slow as hell. Haven't been following thread, is there an issue?

Yeah, P2P is basically broken right now. Getting just a few KB's/s.
