Afrihost CAPPED ADSL Feedback (MTN)

I just got hold of our Telkom Service Manager, that means that you are still being moved from the ADSL2+ to VDSL Circuit, you should have VDSL access in the next few hours.

Failing to deliver once again.

Thanks Afrihoax.

Speeds and latency looks to be getting better across the board. For this still having troubles please reboot your router and try again.

Afribots can I get a response please?

Repeat after me: "Afrihoax betrayed the very people who made them, selling out."

Hey guys

Things are coming back up slowly but surely, we're still monitoring things closely. Latency and speeds should return to normal soon.

This should be normalising - could you test again in 20 mins or so please?

Can I be granted a answer now please ?

Wonder if this bs story is evem true.

This is normally when my connection is at its worse so lets try a speed test and see what happens:

International is not great but adequate to Stream in SD which is the main use of the line at this time.

Overall a vast improvement.

edit:
Looks like the Speedtest underestimated international.
Here is an actual stream running at 480p on International

No Buffering, great picture.

Sorry about this, the line was definitely supposed to be VDSL by now :(
I don't have all the details, but I've asked the Genie to follow this up first thing tomorrow morning.

Sorry bruh BS! You better have my 60 Day money back guarantee ready when I call tomorrow morning tired of this bottom scrapped support staff and sh|t service.

Can I get a response as to what the issue with my line is.

Hate this silent treatment cr@p. Do you know and are hiding information like you did regarding that ticket or are you guys just really plain useless

Thanks Afribot deciding to ignore me and then go offline.

Speeds seem to have improved significantly for me since the "tweaks". Ping still relatively high, though. Can anyone on a 2mb line in the South please supply speedtests to compare ?

Jeez man give the guy a gap. We all have to sleep and eat at some stage? I understand your frustration but imo you are jeopardizing yourself here.

This started in September Im a bit IDGAF anymore regarding this useless company anymore.

( But yea you have a point... Probably not worth ranting since these oakes are not really in a position to make a change they just give afrihoax certified responses.)

Guess this was my way of venting some frustration since they don't have a office I can walk into and speak to a actual flesh and blood human.

Your ADSL Data Account can be Paused, but you are unable to Pause your ADSL line, you can have it moved back to Telkom as an alternative. I should also point out, your ADSL line will work with any other ISP whilst it is managed by Afrihost.
Thanks. I know I can use other ISP. Just wanted to confirm line won't go dead if I pause the service. If I don't see improved speeds by month end I will have to pause ADSL until things improve.

Although I am getting reasonable speeds now it keeps dropping the connection to the server.
It streams for between 5 and 10 minutes and then the feed either stops or it shows as buffered to the end as if an end of file had been sent.
I have tried several servers and get it on all of them, so it is not the particular file or server, it is the international connection.
I am not sure what is worse, watching in SD and constant buffering or seeing part of a video in HD but having to then start it again and skip to where you were every few min.
As soon as one thing is fixed something else breaks :(

Thanks for these tests, I think we are finally start to see some improvement across the country - barring one or two areas and some variance - but it is definitely looking better.
Please don't touch anything! For first time in weeks my download speed is at 8.6Mbps on my 10Mbps line in Cape Town! Pretty awesome to be able to stream a full movie with no buffering. PLEASE keep it like this.

Spped is solid for the first time in 2 months! Woohoo! But Streaming on Twitch is still the same ol buffering it always have
