I didn't say that I was happy particularly as I have wasted thousands of Rands paying for a service that I was not getting! Once the dust settles I will definitely be making a claim and I have kept meticulous records to back this up.

Wow.

You have lots of faith.

I cancel an ISP after just one month of crap.

Finally found a decent ISP on my 6th try.

Are you still with WA?

If line tranferes wasn't such a hassle I would have move this line weeks ago.

All my other lines was moved over to WA, I decided in good faith to give AFhoax one last change which up to now failed horribly.

-------------

But lets wat and see tomorrow hopefully all will be sorted.

You can leave your line with whoever and run a diff isp account? My line stayed with wa when I got ah account.

Its not the Data part bothering me, its the ability to manage my line

Been on the phone with telkom already and supplied them with the ticket Afrihost sms'ed me.

They said they received no further instructions amd the line is functioning on 15Mbps ADSL2

So I hold Afrihost Directly accountable for their negligence and want this sorted today !

( I ordered a VDSL 40mbps )

Last month

At this point you were ready to migrate to VDSL, particularly after you lost your connectivity, all that was required was to verify your installation. Please read this thread:

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/652838-Line-Syncing-ISP-connecting-but-no-internet

When this happens again, just call Telkom and get your line verification number and verify it yourself here:

https://secureapp.telkom.co.za/ADSLVERIFY_NEW or ask them to do it for you.

You will be moved to your VDSL profile within the hour.

That is not the only thread explaining this issue, which everyone who is migrating to VDSL is going through, regardless of ISP. Had you taken the time to look instead of bleating at AH (who should really know about this by now, true), then you would probably be sitting with your 40Mb VDSL by now.

Already done. Don't worry bruh I made sure.

They said everything will be sorted tomorrow so all is well.

I have mostly found reasonable service from Telkom. Just remain calm when dealing with them and speak in a polite but firm way. Whilst, at times, it is difficult not to get annoyed but a bit of politeness goes a long way. BTW do you know that if you verbally promise Telkom that you will retain your adsl line with them for a minimum 12 months they will give you a substantial discount. They don't advertise this but you must ask for it - remember in a calm but forceful way.
My apologies for suggesting that you were acting like an (_*_)

Agree with this, I nearly moved my line to Vox as the 40Mb line rental is considerably cheaper as they sell it at cost, but then Vox got all confused and I knew I would spend more time sorting it out on their behalf than if I stuck with Telkom and just found the right person to speak to on the odd occasion it was required. So my line will remain with Telkom for now.

You know that line discount is still available right?

I decided to test WA this weekend on 1 of their smaller packages and im really impressed. Problem is that i realized what i have missed out on. Sub 200ms pings to EU servers, back to streaming on high settings on twitch tv and 1080p on youtube.

But knowing the type of company AH are, they will come right and be back to their fighting weight again. The day i see that happening ill be back.

BTW thor, u can leave ur line with AH, just get a local techie as a contact and go from there.

Got a local techie whom I payed the call out fee to confirm I can get 40Mbps vdsl after Emanual from AF said I can only get 4Mbps.

So looking to move my line in the future.

For now I pray it gets resolved tomorrow

For a bit of fun I am going to embark on a 9.4 Gig http download using my AH account and a multi-threaded downloader (max 12 threads). My speed test before is as follows:

http://speedtest.ookla.com/result/2760284758.png

Will update this post with download time when it is done.

Am in the South.

Stress test complete.

Size on disk: 9.85 Gigs
Time to download: 39 minutes.
Threads timed out: None
Total threads: 31
Server: International

Speed test after download: http://speedtest.ookla.com/result/2760310096.png

This is what I expect from AH. I hope it continues...
