Don't blame him, he is paying for the top ADSL line, the issues should be near to non existent. I had one line fault in 6 years in the UK and 2 in the US in 3 and all of them were due to upgrades on the lines not due to poor infrastructure or the ISP.

37Mbps and 30 ping is damn good by SA standards

I do.

My line is at constantly at 38.2Mbps 3.01Mbps and 7 ping for more than two months now.


I really don't think 30ping is such a major issue.


Yes! It should be as low as web africa, but this is MTN, mtn is hond k@k so what do you expect?

That's why I feel 30ping is pretty much damn near perfect

Sorry you are missing the point.. Look at my other posts about the speed test done yesterday.

The whole weekend past the line was bad and pings worse.

My post tonight was in support to the guys complaining about lag and bad pings not about speed issues.

Jitter / LAG does unfortunately effect the FPS gamers and that's what I'm "complaining" about is that there is still something wrong on the network. Speed helps me nothing when I want to play a lag free game.

Also a friend I both on Afrihost had to quit BF4, because of lag issues so bad that it wasn't worth playing. He is on Business uncapped and me on Capped.

I'm sure speed test traffic is most likely prioritized on most ISPs, but for a lack of a better tool one must work with what you have...

The major complaint here is packet loss, not latency and speed.

Packet loss makes playing FPS games impossible.

I hope Afrihost can figure out what's wrong. At the moment we're going in circles and it seems like it's up to us users to find the problem for them.

Very poor from them as this has been going on for about a week now..

Hello,

Seems I'm not only one getting considerable mounts of packets loss. Latency and download speed is fine. Just people on TeamSpeak sounds like robots.

Hope they will fix this soon!

Yip quit a few of us are having this problem,funny thing is its not all Ts servers.

But yeah its annoying :/ in the other hand if you log in details of another isp the ts that had packet loss has no loss

So it ia Ah that has a problem with certain ts servers and games ect
 
Morning Guys!

It seems that the speeds seem to be a bit better this morning, but I still not liking all the packet loss that you guys are getting to Teamspeak, BF4 and League of Legends.

I can say however that we are making some great strides towards smoothing out the packet loss, and I am confident that you will be seeing an improvement shortly.

I did see that message thanks! We're making sure the routing is working as it should for Netflix specifically. Which DNS service are you using at the moment?
 
Props where it's due. After that initial Matchmaking game loss dropped a lot. Down to 0.3 in both mumble and CSGO.

Whether it stays like that is another story. I'll test later and let you know.

SO what has packet loss got to do with NNTP??

Every night this week so far I get AWESOME NNTP dl speed in the 10kb range...

Yet in the early am - when Sickbeard kicks in - all is good?

What gives - and when do we get FREE 0:00 to 7:00 am BW?
