Poor speeds!!!

Hi there Afri, genie, or what ever. How is it that I'm downloading a 900meg torrent with my afri account and only getting 13kb/ps.
I switched over to an "test account free 1 gig with comptetion, and with the same amount of seeds/leechers what ever, I'm getting 2 mins later an connection over 425kb/ps???? Switching back to the afri account again (10meg line-capped), the torrent runs again at 13 to 25kb/ps??? Now you tell me, what the hell is going NOW? Same router, PC, Line, Room, Exchange,Server what ever.........

Why does these speeds run so much in differ with different ISP???

D3 issues again, LoL as well had to change to web africa again tonight its working fine I really am tired of posting every single day of my life here.

Is it not because the video reloads when you change resolution, so it essentially asks for a chunk of bandwidth upfront to reload the video at the new res and frame rate?

Pssst. /talks in hushed voice: There are...(looks around conspiratorially)...other ISP options which do not have these problems.

If it's a different server then it's a different issue. We definitely don't shape NNTP traffic, but it could be a slow down or latency during periods of high contention :(

Hi Chris

We do know that when contention is higher than we'd like due to high demand at peak that some services can perform poorly. Our guys are working on this, we're hoping to see ongoing improvement (we have seen some big improvement in latency already) as they work on this.

Our tests are still showing that D3 is working, but we may be testing at a different time to you. When are you playing and getting these issues?

We can absolutely test, we just generally have a team member who is currently on leave who does a lot of testing for us. But we have independent monitoring and we also test with clients so that we can replicate issues that are reported. So there is definitely no reason for clients in to South to feel like what they report will receive any less attention than clients in other regions.

We having load shed for the last week this means 1/6 of the user can not use the adsl and still the same problem every evening in the south
The answer from critical care

I have spoken to our technical team who look after our network and they have informed me between the mentioned times
there had been a demand for bandwidth on our network.

This answer I hear for 39 days wit out fix

No. I logged a ticket and a tech reset the account. The server immediately connected and started processing. Considering that I could game, browse and stream and ONLY the 119 was blocked BEFORE the reset, points at a direct traffic issue on your network.
 
After an up and down conversation with AfriGuy, trying to convince him that something is wrong with my line on AH side, he asks me for results from a vendor neutral site - Well, here they are.
This is becoming ridiculous now......
