Ah! There was a top-up on your account that was only going to expire at the end of May.

I've updated the date, can you remove the cancellation, then add it again, and it should allow the cancellation at the end of April.

The issue was relating to how much bandwidth the Uncapped accounts were consuming when they should have been shaped, this was directly impacting our other Clients especially our Capped and Business Uncapped users.

From my side, I've personally been doing extensive tests from my connection in the North, and there was definitely a significant improvement, I've not been able to do similar testing in the South as yet, I'm still waiting for AfriGuy to complete his testing before I can confirm any changes in the South.

Current download speeds on an AppStore update. Speeds are pathetic! How does the network go from running smooth yesterday to this crap that's slower than a 56k dial up modem?

In terms of general network performance, you should be getting similar throughput to yesterday.

Would you be able to test your speeds and latencies from a PC?

Something seriously odd down South.
I've started getting frequent timeouts on all HTTP streaming apps - Java or Shockwave based as well as RDC based connections. Haven't experienced such before.
Also all pings to the US are timing out :(
No packet loss on SA hosts. UK hosts are also ok.

Update: Okay packets are getting to the US and then timeout, so clearly something up there.
I am seeing some timeouts on tils-cr-2.uk--tb-cr-1.za.mtnns.net [196.44.31.113].
Not sure how much this is playing into it.

Same here, looks like we back to what Afrihost sees as normal until half a million of us complain.

throughput nowhere near yesterday, as posted above App Store running at 3KB/s. yesterday speeds on the App Store were 1MB/s

The latency on the third hop is definitely too high, this is probably what is affecting your speed in general.

I've reset your ADSL Line, can you please restart your modem and see if there is any change in your latency and speeds.

Something isn't kosher but I can't isolate what it is.
I simply cannot work on a Remote Desktop Session. Works for a minute then completely freezes up.
Also experiencing the same on realtime stock platforms.

Sustained downloads are fine - realtime is not at all happy.

AfriPeeps... any thoughts?
