Welcome DrJohnZoidberg,

enjoy the thrill of being able to use 6-12% of your line! (even capped has been terrible lately)

enjoy your stay.

Seems pretty okay right now, I won't use uncapped though as I've been there before. Just couldn't look past the bundle discount on the line price.

Afriman

I know this has already been asked, but time to ask again.

Are the bundled prices going to be updated soon to reflect the new capped dsl pricing ?

As we move closer to the end of the month without an announcement - it is better value to un-bundle and take a line + capped package separately.

ie. I can get 150gb data + 10Mbps line for R699, which is the same as a 100gb data + 10Mbps bundle currently.

Does not compute.

I do see your point :(
Our team are looking into the Bundled accounts - can't promise anything, but I'm sure we will have something announced soon.

Afriguy, any idea when bundled packages will start offering a saving compared to Unbundled?

edit: I see thewusman above me asked the same thing. Apologies.

Yup cause if it does not happen anytime today I'm unbundling. Moved from business to cap cause it seemed value for money but see the bundles at the moment aren't that great compared to the unbundled. I would prefer to bundle but not how things are at the moment.

P.s soon doesn't help me. Not trying to be rude but I've heard soon since last year September.

Anyone else noticed when topping up data that it doesn't reflect their + free data? I topped up 20GB and didn't get the other free 20GB.

Hey Afrihost - are you shaping capped now?

0.53Mbps via VPN - http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3391790433
2.61Mbps without VPN - http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3391791775

I am based in the Cape Town region and understand you have capacity issues... however I use my VPN for work and shaping it to death to the point of becoming unusable isn't cool. Over the past 2/3 weeks it just went from bad to worse. Unless this is sorted you're forcing my hand to change providers.

Not happy.

Does this also happen with Web Africa and Axxess test accounts?

Strange, you should see consistent results on this.
PM me if you're still having troubles with this and we'll run some troubleshooting.

Hi Afriguy,

Terrible speeds today on a 2Mbps line, 100GB, unshapped, capped account.

Sorry to hear this :(
Looking at your results here, your latency on the exchange is a little high which may be causing the slow throughput. Have you seen these results previously?

Strange, you should see consistent results on this.
PM me if you're still having troubles with this and we'll run some troubleshooting.

Finally gave up - if its not pathetic line speeds then it is erratic latency. Decided to give axxess a try - and havent had this good VPN line speeds for a quite a while (I'm on 4Mb) ...

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3392218986

Its still early days but it is definitely looking a lot better.

I'm really not sure on the bundle pricing for now, I have heard that our teams are looking at some options but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Surely at the very least bundled users will get "double data" (as we did this month, which was a great & awesome stop-gap) until such time as bundle prices have been adjusted to bring them in line with the new capped month to month unbundled offerings ?

I see no reason why bundled users should/would pay more and suspect that is not your intention.

I'd appreciate an answer from sales/product management.

Thanks.
