Afrihost CAPPED ADSL Feedback (MTN)

Has Afrihost just gone down? My internet just dropped, switched to another isp and it's working. Been having problems with Telkom line, so can't tell if its telkom fiddling or Afrihost. Well I suppose I can always switch back and see. Having a very frustrating week!
 
What's "down" for you?
Can't you connect to the account?
Or can you connect but there's no throughput?

Have you checked your account in your clientzone?
 
It was up and running this morning, all connected and working fine, then the connection dropped completely. Doing a ping or trace route shows nothing at all. I have checked my account in clientzone and it all looks ok in there. I may drop them an sms.

There aren't any general issues that would be causing this.
Could you drop me a PM with your account info and I'll have things checked out for you.

Where's the old clientzone gone to?
I tried going into it using the "old clientzone" link in the clientzone, and it just redirects me to the new one.
 
That's what I did :p
Both options redirect me straight to the new CZ.

Tried a new browser too, same problem. Was working just fine this morning.

Odd indeed, we'll get our team to check this out :)
 
@ AfriGuy - although I apreciate extra bandwidth every month, the idea of a 66% saving should reflect as a 66% discount in RANDS and not extra bandwidth.

This has done nothing to reduce my expenses on a monthly basis. Suppose I could use Clientzone and go back to 50Gig to get the saving.

Sounds like this may have been some kind of caching issue, I tested it out a few times when AfriGuy messaged me about it. Did not see any issues?

We did announce the savings in the press and on our website and social media to give existing clients the opportunity to go into ClientZone to change their packages. Since you're not paying any more than you had already, you still have plenty of opportunity to regrade your package and realise the cash savings.

It's always a toss up, do we give more data or cut your price. We would love to give clients a choice - but then we'd sit with thousands of clients who neglect to choose an option and sit with an old product at an old price. Unless we default them, and we're back to square one again. Our general rule of thumb is to always give more data, except for Uncapped where that is not really applicable :)

I cleared Chrome's cookies and cache and the problem persists.
I tried it in IE (never logged on before) and it worked fine.

That's very weird. It's working fine for me in Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Wonder what's the issue here? :(

Probably a Chrome issue. It's worked just fine this past month, and yesterday all of a sudden nogo.
Computers have a tendency to do that :p
