So what happens when you unbundle?

Do you get the extra 50GB per month from april or will it only start in may?

Yes, it would only come into effect when you get new data, which is the end of next month. So you may find that unbundling will cost you a little more - but you get more value from the extra data.

But I would hold on a couple of days - you want to be a Capped Bundle client right now - trust me ;)

Hey, I have just changed to a capped 100gb 8mb account. My speedtest is shocking at 1.7mb/s from local servers.

Whats up with this.

I am based in EL and when on the uncapped 4mb business account my line would run at max.

Welcome to the club. Afrihost doesn't have the capacity to accommodate all of us. They waiting on Telkom. Yet they oversell.

Below my speeds. This has been carrying on for almost 3 weeks now. I should be getting 860kb/sec

@afriguy I'm still waiting on a response. I pm'd you more than a week ago.

Yep - also in CPT and experiencing the same.
Can't get more than 150KB/s.
Been this way since 5pm.
Hope it resolves soon... and yeah... could be people consuming Cap.
Afriman mentioned some issues with Business accounts... could be related to what we're experiencing.
Okay folks - Poor speeds yesterday wasn't due to people trying to consume cap. There's an issue somewhere.
My performance today is unchanged and really poor. Not getting more than 200KB/s on anything.
My typical speeds are peachy... 800KB/s to 1MB/s. Something has gone wrong since yesterday.

AfriMan - thoughts?

For the last 2 to 3 weeks (since this double data deal which sounded fantastic), our 10mb line with Afrihost 50mb cap has been dismal. What's happening Afrihost?
Running a speedtest.net comparison within a minute of eachother show how dismal Afrihost is currently compared to a really shaped Internet solutions account, Afrihost maxes at about 1mbits/sec (between 1 and 3mbits/s the last 3 weeks) whereas IS is way up at 8mbits/s.

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3411030465 (afrihost 50gb cap)
http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3411034579 (IS uncapped)

I've repeated this exercise a handful of times over the past weeks, and I'm sorry to say, Afrihost you have a problem on your hands. Please fix the problem else I'm sad to say this long standing fan of yours is going to have to say his goodbyes =.(
Our account is under [email protected]

Realtime services are perfect but p2p and downloads are slow and jumpy, hope this rectifies soon. Still feels shaped, I'm only guessing capacity issues.

Well skype has been awful for a couple weeks now. Kinda sucks since my girlfriend is overseas. :(

If you have a 10mb line, then you should be seeing speeds of 1000 not 600, so both accounts are not working properly, even tho one is performing better than the other (very strange that one). Still, try with another ISP account like WA, as they are on the IS network, they have a free 2GB capped account for life, , just to eliminate telkom from this equation. You can sign up online.

cool, I'l try that.
but what is the ISP "WA" and where do I find them on line?

OK, just signed up for NTV.MX on my 8mb line/account. SD buffers badly - very frustrating. This is not what I expected. My line is testing fine as per client zone.

My 4mb business uncapped was perfect (for newsgroups) but thought it would be too slow for live streaming - hence the 8mb capped account.

Are there any tests I could do an post results for you guys to check?????

Are there any other test accounts from other ISP's that I could test???

My speeds are also very crappy tonight. I'm on a 4mb capped account, I should get full speeds. I'm trying to stream some the United game and it can hardly play a 150Kbps stream. This is very disappointing.:(
