Thanks for the heads-up. Do they hate us then? :o

I'm in East London. Beacon Bay exchange. I think your exchange is buggered ;)

*EDIT* and this on TI 4mbps uncapped:

Afriman, you'll notice that when you're forthcoming with information there is no need to take a hard stance. If you tell me that your organization's policies don't allow you to comment, that is fair answer as well.

Try a german news site: http://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/w...lands-Weltmeister-sind-absolute-Giganten.html

Streaming <1mbps with buffering from time to time. IS accounts have no issues with this what so ever.

I really don't think there is ever a reason to take a hard stance, as you put it. Just my 2c.

Happy to test your links and let you know what I find on my side :)

Lol, taking too long to finish my cap

EDIT:

Even Telkom beating AH tonight.

Doesn't look to good for us there. We should be seeing excellent throughput from the South, we're not seeing the kind of load and contention on the Southern network at the moment. We'll definitely need to find out more here, can you please PM me?

Currently on 50gig capped. I have 2mb line with afrihost. When is best time to upgrade line to 4mb. That is max my line can have according to admin area. Want to avoid pro rata charges.

There's no right answer to that one. It depends on when Telkom do the upgrade on their side, usually within 24-48 hours. So as close to the end of the month is probably good, but if it takes longer than expected, you might get a different pro-rata fee in the new month. So maybe 24/25th to allow for Telkom to do their thing :)

When I queried the TI account with telkom yesterday I was told that I really shouldn't expect anything over 2mb speeds…

Looks like throughput is generally poor for a 4Mbps line. So I would check other factors, perhaps there is a line fault or congestion in your area. You can use our Network Test App to give you some quick indicators for latency to compare.

+1. After Telkom and Afrihost's billing is the best time. Telkom works on more or less the same period as AH so I'd go for between the 25th and 30th.

Absolutely - just give me another 10 minutes to finish the 30mb download and I'll run it.

I'm sorry Afriman, I know you're just trying to help but I've tried to sort this out with Critical Care twice already with nothing coming of it. I'm leaving at the end of the month so I'm not really bothered trying a third time.

OK, I totally understand. Just odd though, I was testing throughput on a 20Mbps line here in the North and was getting really good speeds. From what I can see the South should have plenty of capacity to give full throughput on Capped and Business, so I really can't understand why this is the case :(

I'll run as much testing as I can either way so we can try to figure this out :(

The account runs perfectly during the day, it's in the evenings when it bugs out.

EDIT:

Here is a test to the same Speedtest server just run this morning:

What time specifically seems to the problem and up until when? I want to check my network monitors to see what consumption in the South is like at that time.

I'm not 100% sure when it starts degrading but I think it's around 6 - 7pm. Here is a graph showing at what time it starts coming right:
