I'm not 100% sure when it starts degrading but I think it's around 6 - 7pm. Here is a graph showing at what time it starts coming right:

Paints a dismal picture indeed. From what I can see demand was high just after 8pm last night, and then was consistent except for a pretty big spike around 10pm. Seems like your throughput was consistently poor until 10pm and then started to improve, so it's very strange here. We shouldn't be seeing contention to that extent according to the reports.

Telkom tells me I can get up to 40mbps
AH tells me that it is not true and I can go max 4mbps on my line......
it is like Oscar and his latest fight. who to believe.

Hehe!
The area could be 40Mbps enabled, but your distribution point also needs to be 40Mbps enabled. Drop me a PM with your line number and I'll double check for you :)

After a week I have had no further problems with my speed and line. Happy to report.

Looks like my line is already back with Telkom

How would I know, or do I have to call them to find out?

There is an order dated yesterday that says it's complete:

That's pretty weird. Drop me a PM with the line number and I'll see if we already submitted the MigrateOut order :(

Afriman, you'll notice that when you're forthcoming with information there is no need to take a hard stance. If you tell me that your organization's policies don't allow you to comment, that is fair answer as well.

Try a german news site: http://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/w...lands-Weltmeister-sind-absolute-Giganten.html

Streaming <1mbps with buffering from time to time. IS accounts have no issues with this what so ever.

I hope I was looking at the right content here. Video loaded pretty easily with no buffering. Tested on a capped account. The stream seemed to ask for more than 1Mbps though, check the graph. I watched an HD YouTube trailer just to show the difference in how much bandwidth was asked.

2 is the German vid, peaked around 340KB/s, while the HD trailer peaked around 1.4MB/s. I realise now that my screenshot doesn't have the bandwidth values, my bad on that :(

When does the 2 for 1 topup special normally start? I need more data this month, as School Holidays = lots of youtube streaming and I need to replenish :)

It's seasonal, so we don't run it on a set day. Closer to the end of the month is usually when management like to open it up :)

Thanks, amazing how much bandwidth can be chewed on youtube. Also amazing is how many Minecraft videos there are and how kids can watch for hours...

BTW - youtube performance is flawless on AH, even with the slightly increased latency. My default setting for youtube is HD and it never seems to buffer.

Awesome. Yeah, I may just have missed the Minecraft generation. My nephew is totally hooked, spends hours playing and watching videos. Thinks have come far since my days of playing Tetris :)

You're never too old for Minecraft ;)

I still get buffering occasionally, though the extent varies. It appears to be better during the daytime than early evenings. Change in ISP and all that goes away.

I ran these tests around 8pm or so last night. Obviously this was in the North region.

Things still buggered for me on capped. Only have 9GB left though.

NNTP really bad:

Will leave the AH bandwidth for daytime use, though I'm hardly ever home during the day.

Yeah, this is not good at all. I know you are planning to leave, but I'd still like to keep trying to improve your performance if we can. Can we keep chatting by PM?

Same here in PE.

NNTP almost dead, back onto VOX and it's 100%.

Tired of this up and down performance. Has been great the past few days.
