Dammit
The amount of complaints coming through for this product is shocking.
The more I read the more I'm being turned off switching to AH capped.

Has anyone been refunded accordingly?
To me, it's basic business to refund when your customer is paying full price for something that is not being delivered as advertised.

Haha, yeah, Afrihost doesn't shape the money from my account to theirs. Always goes through like lightning.

Down to 1.7 Mbps, 4% of my usual 38 Mbps...

4% is really low.

Is there any chance of crashing out completely?

Forewarned is Forearmed and all that Jazz.

Also is there any link between IPC and hosting issues?

There are no issues in Afrihost land... no IPC issues at all see...

Absolutely nothing wrong at all anywhere... even "General Notices" is all green.

Must be just you, your equipment, your lines and your exchanges.

lol yes, refunds for everyone! That'll be the day..

There's no 'contention' in Afrihost's billing department, I can assure you...

I have, in fact, been offered a refund for two months of my service. As this translates to credit in my account, I'm leaving my lines with Afrihost when I move at the end of this month, and will let that credit cover my line rental till it runs out.

I've been having the same experience as everyone else here, but was pleased to be offered the refund. Appreciate that

Then this is clear cut robbery, in my opinion at least.
You advertise something, charge x for it but deliver a fraction of what was advertised.
This is know as the good ol' bait & switch

Seems everyone has been hoodwinked by AH...

I feel the same, and that's why I'll be out before the next billing cycle. Afrihost will become my backup account. I'm probably going to move to Web Africa. The reason I got a capped account was to AVOID SHAPING. Now that Afrihost is doing their NOT-SHAPING bull****, I'm out. The only way these charlatans will learn is by taking our money elsewhere. The amount of SPIN in this thread and others related to Afrihost is nauseating.

Afriman/guy can sugarcoat this **** all they want, but the reality is that we are NOT GETTING WHAT WE PAY FOR. Any consumer who enjoys not getting what they pay for are more than welcome to stay.

@Afriguy,

This better be an across the board offer, because I want to drop all my Data packages with you guys, you can keep the line managed.

The cherry on top was when I realised my double-data was gone this month, your support team told me to unbundle my package, then rebundle it increasing the cost by an additional R128.00. Are you bloody kidding me? Where the hell is that stipulated in the agreement and how dare you just change my service that you advertise still on your website?

Is this an offer to all clients or just a select few?

I'm sorry you feel this way. We're still working very hard to deliver a good overall experience and for many clients we've managed to do so by improving network efficiency while we wait for further capacity to be delivered.

I don't think we'll offer refunds across the board (that would a management decision) but we usually find ways to make it up to our clients in other ways (and also by investing significantly in improving our resources to provide better value and internet experience)

There is definitely no link between hosting and DSL. Although the IPC is hosted at one of our data centres, bandwidth from the data centre goes directly onto MTN's network and doesn't use the IPC in any way.

I don't know when you took this screen grab, there is a notice on the North and South region DSL. The South one has been active for some time, but we're working on our bug in our website that clears the notice when newer notices are opened and closed.

I'm sorry to hear that you are moving ultimately. I am sure the refund you mention is based on your discussion with the accounts person you dealt with, based on your specific experience.

Holy Crap even your website is batteling to load . Local is iffy but international is almost impossible . FIX THIS !
