+1, who will you move to though?
Probably WebAfrica..
Yes, they shape their capped accounts, but so do Afrihost (whatever they wish to call it). At least they're honest about it though. P2P and NNTP are shaped during the day, and everything else is supposedly smooth sailing. I'd much rather know what I'm getting, then be left in the dark on AH.
I mean, I don't think we're asking for much... I'm not even saying that AH should 'magically' get their additional IPC installed immediately. We have to be realistic and understand that it isn't a 2 second fix, and that there's nothing they can do about that. Granted, no ISP should EVER find themselves in such a position. Afriman/guy keeps singing the praises of their management and engineering team, wrt network planning and so forth. Clearly they're not very good at what they do! This isn't the first time they've found themselves in this position (this year alone). Just give us a date! It isn't possible that nobody in management has a more precise date than "a few weeks".
My point is that the new IPC isn't going to get installed suddenly. Afrihost staff are not going to rock up at work on Monday only to find that Telkom have completed the upgrades! When it's even close to being completed, they'll be very vocal about how much longer it's going to take. "Just 3 more days guys!" "It'll be done this Friday" etc.. Instead, the best they can tell us is "in a few weeks". That clearly indicates that these upgrades are far from being immanent.
Oh! and just one more rant that I need to add.. @Afriman/guy, can you please tell Gian, and the rest of your AH management team, to stop making you turn these forums into a propaganda zone! I actually cringe every time I see you guys sing their praises.
"After winning every award known to man, Gian told us that we need to do better.."
"Our management team is committed to delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction" (AH dictionary: "customer satisfaction"/noun: another term for "profit")
"In a simple team building exercise, our engineers proved the existence of the Higgs Boson particle, using nothing more than a toothpick, and a pickled cucumber"
It's pathetic! You have openly admitted that you have insufficient capacity. If Gian cared (even just a little bit), then Afrihost would stop accepting new clients until such time that the network can support it. You're actively seeking out new customers, when your network is (admittedly) incapable of providing the service to your current customers... because you care... about profit.
