In your use case it has made no discernible difference, it is still virtually impossible to stream between 5 and 11PM.
I now use Telkom in the evenings, not perfect as its shaped, but at least 4 times faster than AH unshaped between those hours.

Thanks! I don't really want to keep changing between accounts. Also Packet loss and latencies was an issue with my gaming while on AH, but mostly since September.

You could perhaps make use of the free 1-GB Capped account to test the network stability and your current connection experience.

Impossible to stream anything esp between 7pm and 11pm in CT.
I only try once a week but there has been no improvement and forced to use another ISP.

Tried again last night - shocking.

Afriman, why is this happening on capped accounts? Is the capacity not sorted?
I also need to make a plan for streaming (to the point where I'm even willing to get 400GB cap), but certainly not if this is how it performs - and numerous people are having this issue, so it doesn't appear very isolated :(

I just had a look at our capacity and available bandwidth for that time in the Southern Region, you should definitely not have experienced any issues with streaming. Was there a noticeable drop in your connection speed and latency as well?

Has anyone been told this before:

"Though we allow up to 10 concurrent connections on a Capped package, speed impacts start to be visible when you have more than 4 connections to it."

Nope, that's news to me and a major problem for me if it is true.

Hi Afri* I also noticed last night while streaming on BBC iPlayer that there was constant buffering every 2 or 3 minutes. Last week I had no issues like that so I am not sure what has changed. Will try Netflix tonight and see how that goes.

I didn't check. It was buffering to hell and cutting out so I just changed to OW account and all was fine.

I will be doing a few tests tonight on my Capped account as well, please let me know how your current streaming experience is.

So my router's traffic meter says I've used a total of 27GB this month, while the Afrihost Clientzone says I've used 54GB. This month as in [00:01, 01-11-2014] to [13:30, 10-11-2014].

Any reason for this? Seems like a very sigificant discrepancy. Either my router's traffic meter is very unreliable and should not have been implemented as a feature, or I'm owed some data :D Or....

Could you send me a PM with your ADSL username so that I can have a quick look into your usage.

Does your modem keep track of the usage even if it loses power or restarts?

Yes, it looks like it does save the usage after a reset. It also says it's been on since Saturday, 01 Nov 2014 00:00 for 228 hours (1 hour downtime) - Screenshot. All traffic on my line goes through this router and there has been no other router connected to this line.

I've PM'd you my username.

Was even worse the whole of yesterday, something is up and it seems you guys know nothing about it. Streaming on twitch yesterday was impossible.
