Icould stream youtube on 720 on 4mb line without buffering last night. Netflix also no issues. Things are looking up. Had consistent 3.4 mb speedtests on cpt jhb and intl. Moving in the right direction

I'm scared to say this and jinx anything but I always feel to give credit where credit is due... I could stream perfectly last night with no problems at all for the first time in a long while. Hope it's not a fluke...

I was trying to play path of exile last night but the latency was so bad if I clicked on anything it would take a minute to respond. Eventually switched to WA free account and no problems. This was just after 9pm last night.

I've been unable to play POE for 6 weeks. I can't even get confirmation that POE is on their games list. TBH I've given up on AfriSpin.
.

ye look sadly i have cut down my AH package already. My international pings and HD streaming is really good on WA. Getting 180ms pings and streaming easily on 720p or source.

Im confused on 1 thing. I have a 3g card with AH that 3+3 package.

When this promo ends are we loosing that +3?

The Cape Town <--> Johannesburg link remains problematic and is actually noticeable when browsing, but Local and International are both working perfectly on my end.

Here is a Trace to MyBB:

I am not sure what is causing the timeout but most of the problem appears to be in the Cape Town Internet Exchange (cinx).

Hope that helps

Morning everyone

Seems like quite a few people reported much better speeds last night. I guess we'll also see how the network performs under daytime conditions with businesses coming online, but our team are still on the job and monitoring performance and testing rigorously on our side.

Please keep reporting your results here so we can see whether anything starts behaving very strangely or (even better) if we see consistently positive results throughout the day.

@Afriguy - Issue has started again with Destiny on ps3 constant in game disconnects please investigate and resolve very irritating at the moment

With the huge volume of changes being made, it's possible that something was overwritten or reversed.

I think once the major work is done to fix the network, we can start focussing on some of these issues. We figured it out before so it should be quick to resolve this time.

Yes. Your cap will essentially halve.

Unless of course you pay the extra for AH+

The Plus+ will ensure that one of your accounts continues to receive double-data, even if the current promotion ends. For the moment I cannot really go into specifics as we will need to wait for the official launch before we share the exact details.

Hi AfriGenie,

This morning around 8 the speedtests and tracert were 100% but now we're getting the below on a 40Mb line in PE. Our external users' VPN connections just dropped and won't reconnect.

Some changes were made on our side in the South, would it be possible to restart your modem in 15 minutes then test the connection again?

My JHB Connection from Cape Town is getting worse:

Local and International are still fine:

Refer to my earlier Comparative Speed tests (9:30pm) and this morning to see steady degrading of JHB connection.
I cant drop the connection at the moment so can not provide a new comparative test.

Now that is strange... I wonder if we made any changes to our local routing. I will look into this, you should not see that speed locally at all.

My earlier Trace indicated that the problem was possibly in the CINX, shout if you need ant traces or ping tests
