Personally I am into it for the Live Music Sessions, there are some great indie musicians in there and I also used to do a lot of scripting and building, it has a thriving economy but it is difficult to get the cash out in South Africa.

The Musicians have a home studio setup and perform live, the audio is streamed and played inworld to the simulator where the Gig is being hosted. The performers avatar is on stage but obviously not synced to RL movements. The Musicians then interact with the SL audience, reading song requests and general banter in open text chat (Voice is normally disabled in Live Music Sims) and reply or respond over the stream (They normally cant type whilst holding a guitar). The audience generally use dance animations, sit or just stand listen.

It works well, but is better to experience it to know how it works. My description cant really capture the mood and atmosphere.

I have often said that Second Life is self induced Schizophrenia, you can of course be yourself, but you can also create a completely fictitious alternate reality/personality. The Best way to survive it is to just take everyone you meet on face value and accept that they may well be roleplaying. If your start trying to analyze it you will go crazy, but if you accept it you will have fun.

Probably, It started as a valid discussion of AH Capped ADSL dropping SL sessions at Midnight, but is beginning to veer off topic.

Tried downloading a file on a afrihost capped account going down at 100kbs :(

This a MS file that a require ,direct HTTP download.

Webafrica account going at 700kbs .

I am based in cape town anything I should try?

Hello, will you maybe post a trace route 1 from Afrihost account and one from Web Africa.

Open CMD type in: tracert followed by a space and then adaxa.com


I know it is a las, but that's the only way we can assist you.
