Definitely not :(
Do you have a traceroute that you can paste here?

The ping definitely shows consistently high latency, can you paste a traceroute too please? It'll give us an idea on where the latency is being introduced.

Ok,much better now, but still far from ideal

Sounds like it's a bit up and down, when you notice that crazy latency again please run a traceroute.

My connection has been extremely spotty the last couple of days and it's barely usable at the moment. Websites not loading stylesheets properly, downloads fluctuating wildly and constant timeouts.

That second hop is definitely worrisome to see, you should definitely not be seeing latency that high on your second hop, which is the connection between your ADSL modem and your Exchange.

We have had quite a few complaints from Cape Town users, there have been quite a few Exchanges that are either being upgraded, or directly affected by the recent loadshedding.

Can I ask that you please send me your ADSL line details so that I can look into this, and see if we can check for any issues in your area.

There are only two more days of Answers week!

We'll be upping the data giveaways to 250GB today and tomorrow, so get asking (and answering)!

And there's still that awesome Powerbank/3G MiFi up for grabs :)

Hey Afrigenie,

I suspect someone is using my account ( be it a old friend or someone who got my details etc), but usually I go into client zone and check the usage on my account, but I receive this message:

The screenshot is a bit hazy, so I can't make out exactly what you're pointing. Looks like you're clicking on a Connectivity account, so there should be no popups. Can you PM me so I can check this out? Might have been during a ClientZone rollout and something odd happened!

i cancelled the plus thing in december and confirmed with afrigenie but i see this month im getting charged for simfy ...
not cool, i definitely cancelled that service while still in the promo month.

afrigenie i sent you a pm

I got your PM! I think I know what may have happened, I just need your account details, and then we can get this resolved for you.

Morning!

I just checked your account from my side, and that function appears to be working now, I think you may have caught us in the middle of rolling out an iterative update to the Clientzone. :)

With regards to your usage, your Capped account has only ever been accessed from your ADSL line number, and I am not seeing any activity on your profile or account that would make it look like someone was fiddling around with it.

I have an MTN sim (prepaid) and would like to buy data from afrihost and use the afrihost APN. When attempting to purchase the Sim I see no option for APN only ... As I don't need the sim , just the settings

At the moment we can't load an APN-based Mobile Data package onto PrePaid MTN Sim Cards. We'll need to courier a new sim card with the Mobile data loaded onto it, to you.

Oooooh! I see where you guys are getting that error now!

That function hasn't been activated yet, but if you select one of your ADSL or Mobile Data packages, you will then be presented with the same option on that screen, and there it will definitely work correctly, under Account Overview you will be able to see all of your session information, assigned IP's and a lot of other cool info.
