See I am not the only one in the CT area getting crazy high pings both locally and internationally.

This has been happening more and more.

But unless 100% of Cape Town users contact support to complain it must be a local exchange issue and only a hand full of users are complaining :)

I cannot reiterate this enough, there is definitely not an IPC issue or a lack of IPC capacity at the moment.

I know it is frustrating to having shaping applied to your Uncapped account, but that is why we offer TurboCharge minutes to all of our Uncapped users.

Seems to be all of Cape Town. Everyone I know in CPT on Afrihost is having the same problems, from Vredehoek to Somerset West. I am stuck at 400 ping to local servers.

Major issues with Cape Town IPC tonight. Just adding this in case AH say "it's limited to only a few people, therefore it's not a problem".

Seems to be all of Cape Town. Everyone I know in CPT on Afrihost is having the same problems, from Vredehoek to Somerset West. I am stuck at 400 ping to local servers.

Includes PE, which connects via CT. My pings are high on AH i.e. 350ms plus. Plugg is 20ms, Vox also struggling a little at 75ms.

Ye guys.. i'm having major latency issues..

Tried to play some counterstrike tonight via steam. Pings of 280ms to 350ms on a local server.

All the other people are having normal pings and only me and another dude also on Afrihost getting above 200ms.

Afrihost please sort out the latency issues :

It must be your exchange... There's only 1 or two other users in PE who are having issues... BS

Yea. Sucks. Switched to another ISP account and perfect. My tracerts on AH account also confirms my exchange is 7ms and 3rd hop to IPC is 270ms+.

Sigh. SSDD.

All Afrihost does is deny there is a problem. Also sick of it.
Moving over to Crystal Web at the end of the month if not sorted.

Told them not to even bother trying to help me they spend so much of your own personal time trying to fault find issues they deny, as I am not the only one.
AfriGenie responds to 1 PM and then its forgotten about. otherwise they never available when there is issues.
you would expect they would have have employed some testers in the western cape. we all become their Test Ginnie pigs and doubt the feedback on top of it and call it an individual issue.

Well, I find it hilarious that the website still shows everything is "running like a bomb''. I wonder if they even know that there is an issue

Morning everyone,

There does appear to be something happening in the South and we're currently investigating and testing with some clients to find out if this is a problem on our network and if so what needs to get fixed.

As far as I can see latency increased on Friday evening and again on Sunday evening. This is not IPC congestion, our reports show that we have not reached bandwidth limit at the times when latency has occurred. However, it could be software hardware issue, that could relate to anything in the network chain, so we're doing a full analysis (and end to end testing) to see what could be happening.

Sorry about those of you who are having a poor experience. Right now it seems to be limited to the South and major regions via the South like Cape Town, PE, etc. As soon as we have something to go on, I will update you guys.

Also having Major Latency issues in Durban.

Cannot play H1z1 on my Afrihost account, switch over to mweb and it runs perfectly.....

We don't seem to be having any similar issues in the East at the moment, would you be able to post a speedtest as well as a Traceroute to Afrihost.com and possibly the H1Z1 server? That will help a lot in being able to figure out where your issue is starting.

Local is Slower than Regional / International

Cape Town Latency is better than Jhb or International but throughput is far worse.

It is an improvement on last night but still not acceptable.

Thanks for posting the updated results, I've update the Team working on this.

Much appreciated.
My pleasure, you may want to pass them the Local Trace too:
