Our NOC Team picked up an issue on our DSL network in the East this afternoon, but I believe it was resolved in about 30 minutes. :) Apologies if this affected you.

Come to think of it, I starting to get the feeling:

1. I am being shaped or throttled.
2. Afrihost is no longer a reliable ISP.
3. I need to actively look for another ISP.

This periodic shaping or throttling is just plain bollocks. I never download the internet, torrents or the like. Just a some gaming between 8 & 9 pm. Some You Tube. A little surfing. And this is the experience? No man. Not even remotely Kosher.

once again shaping is on even at this hour and one can only asume they are out of ipc again

You are on a Shaped Capped account. It may be shaped from time to time. You could maybe consider switching to an Unshaped Capped account.

30 minutes to download the app just ping it... nope!

Shaping will never, ever cause you to see the type of latency that you are getting on your connection. Latency that high leads me to believe that there is a line or Exchange issue causing it.

Can you please ping bras.afrihost.com for me.

you said that shaping would only be applied if the network is under extreme preasure so do you have extreme problems now every day on your network for the last couple of days

Nowhere near "extreme problems". :) If you would prefer a truly unshaped experience, it would be best to consider going Capped. :)

Openserve might have changed your line profile type. 22ms is definitely still good. I'll check it out with them if you'd like to try and get the 6ms back. Please drop me a PM reminding me of your line info.
