Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

we dont even do torrents and every day from 5pm everything slows down including browsing but on another isp it works fine so what does that tell us
I feel for the rest of the guys in the South... I guess I'm a bit fortunate as we in a low income area where AFAIK only one other guy in our road has ADSL... I guess the exchange I'm on is not as congested as others.

Firstly, your Critical Care team, is obviously NOT as experienced as you would want us to believe. Otherwise, the problem would have been fixed MONTHS ago already. This issue is going back as far as OCTOBER last year, not only for me but for A LOT of your customers in Cape Town. Please, let's be straight and honest here now.

Secondly, I have NOT posted someone ELSE'S test results. I have posted HUNDREDS of *MY* traceroutes and they can go and LOOK AT THEM if they need to see them. I have even provided them links to the thread, and further than that, to MY posts directly. Your Critical Care team, is obviously SO experienced, that they can not read.

Thirdly, I am NOT going to be running the same tests, over and over and over until I eventually get tired of it. Which, seems to be AFRIHOST'S way to resolve problems. Not ONCE, in this ENTIRE THREAD, has there been feedback provided to ONE SINGLE TEST that your customers ran... Not ONCE!

Fourthly, YES, I have been rude! The attitude from your Critical Care team (and the entire Afrihost for that matter) is condescending to say the LEAST!!! I come to Critical Care with a SERIOUS problem, and all I get back from them is a bunch of smiley faces??? WAKE the hell UP please!

You, and your Critical Care team seem to ENDLESSLY want test after test after test at your CLIENTS expense, and you CLEARLY do not do anything with them.

Yes, I have gone to the ISPA, and I encourage ALL other Afrihost clients in the CPT to follow the same route.

This, is PATHETIC service levels for ANY ISP, let alone for Afrihost.

:(

I'm really sorry that you feel you had to go that route.

I'm sure that working with our Critical Care Team would have had any issues that you may be experiencing resolved in no time.

I can assure you, that our Critical Care isn't their to waste your time, and they are highly experienced and knowledgeable and any tests that they requested were utterly important and needed to ensure that the issue you were experiencing was resolved as quickly as possible.

If they missed your traceroutes that you posted there, I do apologize, but I checked through your posts and I wasn't able to find any recent traceroutes either apart from the graphs that displayed your throughput. Those unfortunately won't help us identify the cause of the issue.

Morning

Judging from the number of comments over the weekend, I am guessing that things have improved, though definitely some issues we need to look into from the users who did post. Thank you so much for posting your results so we can give the network guys more feedback. There has been a lot of work put into making sure the South performs as well as our clients expect, and I think we are getting there.

Or most are just fed up that they never get any explanations for all previous tests posted.

But hey if it makes you sleep better...

P.S. Your network is still screwed, same as it's been since beginning of January. Same as it will be night after night until you sort your IPC in the South out. I'm sure there have been enough tests posted by multiple people to prove that.

Are you guys ever going to sort the problems in the cape out? Like ever? It's a colossal joke asking for DNS and traceroutes from so many individuals when it's been proven time and time again that if we swap to another isp account everything works 100%

I think I've found my new ISP

Morning everyone

Thanks for the updated test results and also including your BRAS ping in your results. I'll feed this back to the network team so we can hopefully improve performance. The team are working on this at the moment, so changes are being made as we identify areas for improvement and better efficiency.

To all the Afripeeps here, maybe it's worth investing in a tool that can be run by customers when they are experiencing these issues and that will submit pings etc to all the various services to your team automatically, I believe it will take away quite a bit of the pain and frustration.

Are we getting any closer to solutions? You guys promised improvements before the end of January, but for me it's stayed the same. And as we've shown it's much worse than early January.

Can we get some feedback? Not just the info is being passed on. Some of us are actually technical people that can handle some more info.

YouTube has been dead slow over the past week..
What is happening?

That definitely shouldn't be the case. Which DNS servers are you using at the moment? Are you seeing extreme buffering with Youtube or no throughput at all?
