That latency looks pretty horrid! :(

It looks like it's starting on your line or Exchange looking at the bras.afrihost.com results. Do you get that sort of latency throughout the day?

Not at home now, but it's normally fine during the day to be honest.

:(

I hope it's not congestion on the Exchange... Please let me know the moment you notice the increase in latency and I'll check what's going on.

Us East London folk have also been getting the same latency issues since last October.

There was no congestion on the exchange last night or this morning,

However, heavy latency issues across the board

Latency is ±189-200mm to London on Online games. Looking good so far Afrifella/eep/guy/man, job well done.

Please prioritise p2p in online gaming applications like Path of Exile and Diablo to the EU cos they are sometimes used. They hardly consume any significant amount of bandwidth. You can get the server adresses and tech details from previous posts. Sometimes it uses this protocol to do certain background stuff that messes with the ping.

When I try to ping bras.afrihost.com I get timeouts? Why would that be?

speed is full, only shaped speed for any "single" download.

ie. if download more than 1 file currently, that is fine.

this happens since yesterday afternoon.

That's so strange... If it was shaping it would affect all downloads and not just if you were downloading a single file.

How is your streaming and other services at the moment?

That's awesome to hear! :)

Our network is able to differentiate between P2P traffic from games and P2P downloads. If you do notice in-game performance that isn't quite where it should be, please let me know!

When I try to ping bras.afrihost.com I get timeouts? Why would that be?

From what I've been able to figure out, some newly upgraded Exhcanges don't respond at all to pinging bras.afrihost.com.

How is your streaming and other services at the moment?

yes, it affect all downloads

eg: downloading 1 file ==> 150KB/s, downloading 2 files ==> 100KB/s each ie 100KB/s + 100KB/s = 200KB/s in total.

no a single file can reach over 150KB/s ==> ie. 200KB/s

That's what I understood, but the shaping would affect the total speed that you can download at, so all of your downloads together wouldn't reach over a certain threshold, you wouldn't be seeing each download running at that speed.

Could you PM me your details and I'll check what's going on.

To which sites or services are you seeing the latency?

Sames as everyone else mate, any internationally hosted games, not matter what it is, experiences high latency at night.
YouTube, Facebook, hell even with TakeAlot I get issues. As soon as we switch to any other ISP, no latency issues.

Using AutoDNS, and AfriGreen account.

Could you PM me your DSL username quickly, I want to check something on my side.
