Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

Well, also had the issue with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8FMF4Pz32A
Could only do 720p @ 1.4Mbps, not 1080p.

Also, even if it wasn't cached, I have a 10Mbps line, it should be able to handle a 3Mbps stream internationally, even if it was only one thread, which YouTube isn't. Note I was also the only person using the line at the time, I made sure to check on router stats as well.
Games wise, also had spikes to 290ms during the peak time again. No packet loss though, just delay.

No, only okay outside of peak.

Thanks for confirming. Glad to hear that P/L wasn't a factor. :) Are you still using Auto DNS?

Thanks for confirming. :) How was your realtime services such as video streaming?

Inconsistent is the summary. Excellent and then /meh, then OK, then excellent.

Only on this account, other ISPs these issues are non existent.

It is almost like a repeat of the shaping issue of old being repeated.

Really sorry to hear that. :( I'd love for you to send me some traceroute results whenever you experience it again so that I can pass it onto our NOC Team.

Quick question....was the double data on accounts not made permanent at some stage? I have been on a 60GB capped account for a few years now, and noticed yesterday on my user control panel that I am still just on 60GB? It shows 60GB for Feb and a little bit of data left over from Jan....but still just 60GB? I am also being charged R129 for the 60GB account according to my invoice? Not sure how this is possible, seeing as the 100GB package is R99 on your website?

I'm sure the account showed 120GB until recently...

You are probably on an old legacy account. upgrade it to 100GB package at R99

The Double Data promotion ended, but you did have the option to permanently double your account - so 50GB would become 100GB - if you opted for a shaped capped account. Alternatively you could opt to remain on your current package and receive unshaped capped data. If you PM me your DSL username I can check for you.

Also going like a speedbomb here. Just don't press the wrong buttons again!!! :D

No, Google DNS, and DNS wouldn't change it as it successfully looks up the IP.
And again, higher latency starting at 8pm.
