You're on a Shaped Capped account right? What speed is your DSL line on, and how do your speedtests compare?

How long do you stay connected on the other ISP account? Re-authenticating can result in a temporary improvement in performance.

Goodbye Afrihost, just swapped the router details, though I do have the roll-over left if I feel like it. :p

depends what we are busy with sometimes 2-3 days

if your service can stay like it was on monday then it is fine but it always goes to crap after about 2 days

Been experiencing issues where I have to restart my router during the night as it just stops downloading completely. After a restart then everything is fine again.

Tested router and its fine for hours on another ISP.
Anyone else having the same issue?

What kind of downloads are we talking about here? P2P or HTTP?

Not sounding good... When you say borked do you mean slow or non-existent? Are you perhaps using DNS settings other than Auto?
 
No, using auto.

International has gone now too, can't get to facebook or other sites
 
Now working again, these issues have been persisting for quite sometime now.
 
Is that not the issue? If I ping the afrihost news server it comes back as a 81.171.99.222 , that's not local?
 
I see if I do a tracert it picks up up 169 address. Maybe I should hardcode the ip rather.

*edit* now back to 81 and that has huge ping spikes. 800ms +

I wouldn't even take it for free of charge.

100mb line here, downloading at 100KB/s. Like if I wanted that I would've paid for a 1mb/s line.

This permanently shaped account is ruining Afrihost as an ISP. Before this they were great.

They'll probably do something closer to the end of the year to get the "ISP of the year" award.
 
Seems to be some DNS issues for the last 15 minutes that has been resolved.

I'll have to report this news server issue to our Server Team. I'm not to sure what else to suggest. :(

Sorry to hear you feel that way. :( Are you currently on a Shaped Capped account? How's regular browsing and streaming performance?
