Each region has it's own IPC... It's not possible to "juggle" bandwidth between the regions. Our Team is making progress in resolving the cause of the issue in the South, I'll keep you updated.

An update, the issue in the South has been resolved. You should see the connection return to normal in the next few minutes. Can you guys please test and advise!

What was the actual cause of the problems in the east and south today? We never seem to get a valid reason or straight answer anymore.

The official feedback from our upstream provider was that there was a physical cable break at a point in the infrastructure in KZN. There is road construction in the area which was suspected to be the cause.

Unfortunately there are all sorts of variables that may affect network experience or outages. Often as silly-sounding as this. Luckily between us and the provider we were able to determine the cause of the issue and get it fixed as quickly as possible.

A cable break isn't silly-sounding... thank you for sharing - it actually alleviates some of the irritation to know what is going *on behind the scenes.

Wasn't that Telkom?
a telkom one feeding the region, in particular one of IS' IPCs at teraco is affected.

So can any of you tell me how the Afrihost network has been lately. I left a couple of months ago due to the network being unstable and high latency in the evening, without resolution. Was tired of giving stats all the time with no result.
I'm in the Southern region.

I'm considering switching back, because Crystalweb is not very open about their usage limits. My account was de-prioritized because in their eyes I was using wholesale amounts of data :D Kind of a joke, because they still offer 18 hours of free data. What do they expect people to do? Not use it?

Any okes in the Cape struggling with connection? Notice I'm dropping connection, then a reboot and I'm back. I'm hoping it's the weather and not the same issues flaring up again that I experienced in the past

And I'm down again :( think the weather is playing havoc now

I'm not seeing any authentication requests for your DSL account. Is your DSL line dropping sync?

:( Be safe dude!

I've heard that things are going to get pretty crazy tonight!

Good to hear! I just hope that you don't get all of the rain that you guys need in two or three days.

JESUS, nothing has changed on this network. This is on YT

Can't stream for **** on any streaming service. Advice I've gotten from reps is "we need to test more"

Looking at this test I've noticed a couple of things. Firstly, you were streaming on a very high resolution for a source that's live. This might be what's causing the majority of your problems. Looking at the transfer rates in your screenshot, I can see that something in your network happened during the latter part of your session which caused your bandwidth to get stretched. Perhaps a friend or family member in your home started using another service which affected your connection to the live stream. Lastly, I can see on your data logs that you have been running on the same session for over 5 days. A router reboot every couple of days is always good practice. :)

I have given up, YouTube is terrible in the east, every video buffers. I am lucky to get 1mbps to YouTube.

That really shouldn't be the case. Please post some example for me to have a look at and we'll get this sorted.
