Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

Hey guys, sorry about the late post here. We had a partial IPC outage affecting all clients in the East this Saturday. My sincerest apologies to everyone that was affected. If you're still experiencing connectivity issues today, feel free to drop me a PM and I'll look into it. :)

Hi AfriFella/Genie

I sent you guys a PM. A problem I had back in Feb of this year is back again.

The problem is back again not even a month later. My line is again only syncing at 6.4Mbps instead of 8Mbps.

I have sent you guys a PM once again with my details. If I don't have to wait 8 days again for feedback like in July, that would be great.

Same very slow speeds again tonight. Seems this is the norm now every evening.

We keep hearing there is no other reports of issues.

Did speak to a friend on Fibre, with Afrihost as ISP, having the exact same issues. So seems to be totally Afrihost and Cape Town related. So sad

How are your other real-time services and downloads running at the moment? Are you seeing those speeds across all of your downloads?

Any download gives the same result. Youtube streaming at full speed.

Browsing feels laggy, which is expected given the higher latencies.

I've posted about this evening issue plenty of times. Have finally logged a ticket, otherwise there is no tracibility.

Afrihost - POOR SPEEDS AND HIGH LATENCY AGAIN!!!

Its the same klt exchange and jhb pinging way too high. same issue a about a year ago on this sane date. high local ping around 200ms or more when should be about max 30ms, and insane international ping ranging from 400 - 600ms when it should be between 190 - 200ms, the problem occurs once again at the hop during a trace route at klt cpt exchange and a jhb one as well. PLEASE solve this issue quick and not a hotfix as this has been occuring for a week now

Same thing again tonight. Extremely slow http downloads.

Some very nice latency too

Sadly my return to Afrihost will have to stop the end of this month it seems. I cannot continue like this and Afrihost does not give a sh*t.

PM'd All the Afrihost people with no response...not even a response to my ticket yet. Getting a little frustrated to say the least

My internet went dead for about an hour yesterday and Youtube playback is a nightmare at certain times. Afrihost is great for me most times. This reminds me of the issue's they had a year or so ago which was blamed on the MTN merger. Their call center gave some BS excuses, only for them to apologize later. Wont be taking that BS again.

I got no time to look at graphs and reports, ping this and trace that. Do that at work all day. Just want my internet to work when i get home. There is so many ISP's out there, the support and service is all that differentiate these companies. With AH for a while now, dnt like to leave but...
