Afrihost charging extra for FTP account?

Hi Afrihost ,

According to your websites FAQ:

What are subdomains?

A subdomain is an extension of your domain name. They are treated as separate sites from the main domain site. They will have their own FTP account details.

So for example: Our domain name is afrihost.com, our web address is www.afrihost.com and a subdomain of ours is support.afrihost.com

So I created a subdomain , and it has no FTP account, in Cpanel I am also not allowed to create a ftp account for it.

I spoke to Kaheem , and it is a extra R35 a month, see the conversation below:

Keenan.M: You can use the main FTP details to access the directory of the sub domain but for the sudomain to have it's own FTP details, it is R35 per month.

The other problem we have is I purchased 2 extra domains to park on my main domain via Cpanel, there is no option to park a domain on their Cpanel , but according to afrihost they can only park it to there domain, meaning I cant point them to my own domain, I can however do it for a extra R19 PM , per domain?

I don't mean to be rude but for R60 (R13 less than the above two "add-ons") , I can go to a certain host that many people consider to be "Elite" , and host 3 different websites (never mind Parking a domain) , have a ton of FTP accounts, and have unlimited Parked Domains, all while saving R290 per month.

I'm really not sure why you even bothered with Afrihost to begin with. The elite-ness of the host you mention is just that, both in price and service with no BS add-ons

This is one of the most incompetent "hosts" in South Africa.

Sadly this isn't for me,Ive been using a other host for about 5+ years, I have already had a discussion with my seniors about the Elite-ness of the other host, just thought I would give afrihost a chance, but got no response from Afriman

Yea, they lost the plot when they started selling ADSL.

+1 for elitehost

They're on fully SSD hosting now, blazing fast.
