Afrihost cloud down again, and again, and again, and again.

A big thank you to the boys at www.domains.co.za for the assistance in moving my server clients from Afrihost over this weekend.
Keep up the good work!

You also? Don't think these guys sleep at domains.co.za. Not breaking Afrihost down, but I just love domains.co.za "client interface". So easy to access and change domain stuff.

We actually employed some of the cast of the twilight movie as support technicians, so not only do they not sleep, they sparkle as well :wtf: :D

What else should I try?

We up since Saturday morning - speak to the right people...

My friend I have sent roughly 20 emails, I have tried to get some on on-line chat several times, I have posted here several times, I have posted on Facebook several times, I have tried phoning several times - WHAT ELSE MUST I DO? We are dead in the water thanks to these people. Their incompetence is tangible! I have really never dealt with a more incompetent bunch of people in my life.

4 days down on emails, crm, ticketing, support and webservices and counting

Wait till 8am, phone their number and press the one for the switchboard - ask for Oscar. If you get a voicemail, leave a detailed message. He normally checks out everything first when he gets your message - he likes to phone you and tell you your problem is sorted.

I also suggest that you log a ticket through your clientzone - in case there is a problem that they dont receive your emails.

Afrihost man, sent you a PM and no reply? Server is still down?!!??!?!

Sorry I didn;t reply, but I did immediately log a request for your server to be looked into. Is you server still down? If so, please PM. Now that I'm back in the office I'll get our guys back on it ASAP :(

I doubt it. I am finding that some of my websites are missing and some non responsive. I had almost 200 accounts, a lot less to worry about thanks to Afrihost. But trying to pick up the pieces. Clients I have known for years are wanting to hold me responsible for loss of business.
Commercial Sales Contacts in progress: R140mil
Civil: R18mil - Tender not submitted Friday afternoon
BNB/Hot: R27K loss in booking
Telecoms: Claim have lost 50% of business
List goes on...

I am noticing a slow down in response on my server at the moment. I hope it is just a wave and nothing more.

I am truly sorry for the impact this has had on your business and clients. I know this must be a pretty touch situation to be in, and I truly wish there was more we could have done to resolve this faster. From the information I have, I honestly believe that our guys did the very best they could to get everyone back up as quickly as they could.

At least AFRIMAN gets to sleep tonight.

If I thought for a moment that not sleeping would have benefitted anyone in the slightest, I promise you, I would not. Unfortunately, I'm not the guy doing the heavy lifting on this issue, and I can promise you that our guy have had very little sleep and worked in team (with very short breaks) throughout the weekend to restore and monitor all the affected hosts.

We are still completely down. Have been since Friday afternoon. What bull****!

Sorry to hear that you're still down. Our team reported that all servers should be back up now.

If you're still down, please PM me so I can get some urgent movement on this for you :(

I understand that Oscar may have helped you, and that is awesome. Just remember that we have teams of guys working on this, and we're all doing more or less the same thing as Oscar. Directing all your queries towards one person will end up making him ineffective, and not utilise our resources to give you the best service.

Please always log a service ticket first, and use that reference to either PM me or contact people like Oscar. That way you have a reference for your query, and we can all operate on the same information and ensure that we're not having multiple people tackling the same problem (which is not always better).

Different options decent pricing..gave them a call to speak to one of their techs and so far i am liking what I hear...and best of all a reliable service.

Dear FFF4Skin.

Can you please tell us where you got this life stream video clip of the helpdesk staff?

If possible that you can check again - I think the party over and they all gone home, cause they dont respond at all now....

Oh just wait I have more :P

So I migrated one site to their R9 monthly hosting (want to use it as a fall-back domain). While I wait for them to create this domain I asked the helpdesk guy to import the backup +-10kb in size into the new domain that I already created.

Now I get a email to ask if I approve the R450 management to import this 10kb file?

During the move we discovered that again 10 domains was allocated to other peoples accounts (dns clusters).

Now they also telling me that they did not register 4 of my .com domains, so they cannot transfer it away. Must check with the man on the moon.... maybe he registered them for me...
