I'm looking for alternative suggestions to resolve my Pure LTE issue as I am not having success with Afrihost support. I've reported with multiple screenshots from different servers at different times of day, all showing my upload speed barely getting over 0.4mbps. Anyone working from home can see how this could be an issue, as we constantly have to share documents or files, often for myself, being a video editor, its a couple of 100 megs I need to transfer for drafts etc. The issue has been ongoing for about two weeks now.

Afrihost replied saying my upload speed is considered "not alarming and normal" - this has never been the case with mobile data, nor have I experience this speed since using MTN for a few years now. As far as I am aware, Afrihost would escalate the issue to MTN when all support suggestions have failed, however they didn't even ask me to reset my router, confirm my APN setting, double check which broadband modes I've selected etc. Just straight to "0.29mbps upload is normal, have a nice day."

Currently it's taking roughly an hour to transfer 30 megs using Afrihost and I have been using my cellphone's mobile data (Cell C) instead to send files to clients. Anyone got an idea what I could try?

The norm now from ISP’s, in my opinion and thats for all of them, is that their service is 110% working, and all YOUR equipment is f’d.

I am havin similar issues with mtn and my fibre isp

Afrihost, Axxess and all of the so called ISP's that RESELL MTN/Telkom products can go fly a kite IMHO. The support you get is useless and the tech you speaking to thinks you are a retard. My best response from them was "set the router to default to resolve connectivity issues"

Hi,

What router are you using currently?

Your could try using a mod firmware and setup a openvpn server to run off ur b525.

It is said it will increase your speeds.

After an email to [email protected], the issue seems to have been resolved by Sibusiso S. I'm grateful that the issue has resolved, I do wish the community manager directed me there from the get-go instead of arguing that my sub 1mbps is normal. Im not sure what "Lost Carrier" is, but the issue seems to be solved.

This reply is BS, what they did affected nothing, and it was likely just an area fault, or something was running on your connection saturating it without your knowledge.

Or your tower is overloaded.

What you see in your initial test is a normal day on RAIN 4G. When things are busy, you get a much smaller chunk of upload speed based on how they divide up the spectrum available, to get your download the best rate it can (sorta happens on ADSL too, I think?). Stand to be corrected on this part, though.
