Afrihost - Daylight Robbery

I signed up with Afrihost a few days ago for a new data ADSL data package and on the screen it said I'd be charged R1.00 (or pro-rata of R1 as per their conditions on their website). The invoice came through of pro-rata of the FULL amount for the month but didn't think much of it. I've just checked bank account and I have indeed been billed for the pro-rata amount of the FULL amount instead of only R1. I've just emailed their support team so let's see what happens.

You may have been charged for the month of December for your package. :(

The invoice should include the month for which you are being charged. You're welcome to PM me your details and I'll check what's going on.
 
You were probably invoiced for December as well as the pro-rata price for November. :)

We submit the payments on the 1st of the month for the coming month.

I don't think I blamed anyone there... :erm: I was simply providing an explanation as to why Kav33r would have received both an invoice for a pro-rata amount as well as for a full-amount.

Pretty sure you can submit payment details on the 1st, but its not a case where the banks will pick up that payment on the 1st. Some banks will only process payments a few days later, which isnt always great.
 
cancelled my promotional package earlier tonight and being informed that it would only end 31 January 2017? WTF?? since when do you need to give 60 days notice? Afrihost turned into thieves indeed.

I want to upgrade my package now cos the package that I'm on doesn't get the free 18 hours from 1st December. When I tried doing that last night, it wanted to charge me pro-rata for November. So when can I upgrade to a new package?

I suggest waiting for the 1st December. If you upgrade now in November, you will pay for the upgrade for a few days ie the pro rata amount.

If you downgrade a package though, you wont be charged anything. Its best to always schedule upgrades on the 1st of a new month.

I received and invoice for December already and it looks like it will go off on the 1st December, so I don't want to be billed for 2 packages.

You wont in theory. If you received your invoice for December, that will be your old package. If you upgrade that package on the 1st, you should get another invoice, but only billed for the upgrade and not your old package. Your old package was already billed at the beginning of November.

Im sure the reps will just confirm what i said or if im wrong will just rectify it. :)

I had to go back almost 3000 posts in the Afrihost New Network Feedback thread to find a post of yours that was deleted by an admin, given the numerous posts you've made in that same thread since then that weren't deleted I can't see how you came to the conclusion that Afrihost is moderating that thread, or any other threads.

We aren't able to delete any posts, if your posts were deleted it was one of the Mods that did so.
