first off let me state that Afrihost has many amazing qualities but before you start transferring your domains over to them to host, beware.
My business hosts almost 50 domains with them and for a long while it was business as usual with no issues.
The past three domains we have transferred over to them have been plagued with bad service and identical problems that have only been solved after ranting to Gian directly and he instructed his real problem solvers to get to work. that was all god and well but too little too late as the client will never trust my business to offer to care for any other areas of his business again.
My company -1, afrihost 1, my client 0. Do you think Afrihost cares, they truly do not.
Their call center is filled with a group of "techies" who run through their standard check lists and when they cant solve an issue which is a direct afrihost responsibility, they keep keep avoiding it by telling you that they are sorting it out, or that the DNS must propagate "again" and will come back to you, which they never do, clearly in the hope that the problem will just go away.
Then I have to call back, wait ages and go through the problem again with a new "techie" who simply perpetuates the problem.
Below are my emails to Gian. Still no solution.

Dear Gian,
I was told by Michael that the DNS had to be propagated AGAIN!!!! He told me that it would take 2 hours.
4 hours later and still nothing! (it is now 8pm)
I also added my details to be called back on your website and have not received a call back yet. (six hours later)
Cmon Afrihost, I am begging you, I am on my F***ing knees now.
You are my ISP and you are my web hosts. I need your help. I don’t know where else to turn and I have been asking for help for days now!
Please guys. What do you want me to do now? Must I pay bribes there or what can I do in order to get this sorted.

Next step is a massive public outcry on every media that I have access to.
All I am asking for is for my client ,that I brought to you, and now pay you for, to be able to receive their emails.

It happening again on another domain we have transferred over to you.
This time it is even worse as my client is now suing me for lost business to the sum of R ***k and they are tired of me telling them that afrihost is sorting it out.
They are screaming at me that their emails were working fine before we transferred the domain and now for the past 3 working days they have been unable to receive mail.
It’s crazy Gian.
********.co.za is unable to receive email and your call center promises to sort it out and get back to me but they never do. I end up calling back and having to go through the exact same story each time and to make matters worse I am out of town and have to do all of this on my cell phone which is costing unnecessary money due to the long wait and call times involved on each call..
I don’t have the time to deal with email crap but I am committed non-the less.
I am feeling angry once again and very let down by your staff again due to their inability to solve a simple problem such as receiving email.
PLEASE HELP!!!

I cannot possibly express the anger that I am feeling for Afrihost right now.
After spending 20 minutes on the phone this morning with someone from afrihost trying to solve a flipping email receiving problem (after I have just transferred the domain away from Hetzner and promised my client a hassle free transfer), the Afrihost staff member could not solve the problem, acknowledged that something on his side did not look right, and the PROMISED TO CALL ME BACK IN 15 MIN!!!!!!
Now an hour later, I try to call your call centre again but waited stupidly for 20 minutes, then 309 minutes to reach someone constantly being told I am first in the que, just to try follow up on some stupid call centre techie that does not call back when he says he will, whilst being pushed for time for meetings I have to go to and with an angry client who screams at me on the phone telling me that he is losing money every 10 minutes without his email, (he works on getting approvals from banks via email),
PLEASE PULL YOU FINGERS OUT YOUR BUMS AND GET THIS PROBLEM SORTED ASAP! I SIMPLY CANNOT DEAL WITH IT.

He cannot send or receive mail but his outlook test email message says complete when testing. It was working yesterday.
PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU TO STOP GIVING CRAP SERVICE AND GET THIS TINY PROBLEM SORTED. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAVE GOTTEN TO THIS STATE IN THE FIRST PLACE. F&%K!!!!

Afrihost. God in some areas, terrible in others. Rather choose a different web hosting company if you plan to use them to host multiple customers websites. They are more trouble than they are worth and useless at sorting certain problems out.
Maybe if I am lucky Afrihost will actually call me back. In the mean time I am off to the next forum to share the news.
