Afrihost, dont bother

Okes telling me to move to Afrihost from WA, and all I see in this thread are people moaning.

Bruh...
People will always moan. It's in their genes.

The issues of a few customers for any service provider is not as high as satisfied customers. You rarely, if ever, see people give a great review for a company because they are happy. People only complain when things do not go their way or happen fast enough for them.

Nothing but good service from Afrihost since the 2000's.

Dont bother contacting support if you have a problem @op - just DM Afriman/girl here.

It’s how a business handles things when they go wrong that really matters.

I had no beef with Afrihost for years but when things went wrong recently and I tried multiple channels to get help and I had to deal with absolute idiots at every turn that things soured.

The way they typically only reply to support tickets once a day and every day or two it's a new idiot that is assigned and then wants to start from scratch again because they are too lazy to read the chat history. Let that carry on for 3 weeks and you'll reach the end of your tether. Maybe if it was just the initial support that was bad then I’d let it go but for it to go on and on like that for a basic issue, no thanks.

You clearly never had an ADSL account with or made use of their "hosted services" ...
I have, and I have never had issues.

I had:
Self Managed Dedicated Server
ADSL and VDSL
Openserve fibre and Metrofibre (Currently on Openserve)
3 Domains hosted on their Linux shared servers
2 Air Mobile Packages (the new one)
Fixed LTE (Rain, Cell C, Telkom and MTN)
2 Legacy Air Mobile package (the old MTN Airtime Afrihost Data Packages)
ESET Smart Security (Still using even though it is no longer sold)

Am I missing where @nocturne345 mentions what their DNS is configured to?

I know that Afrihost directs traffic to their local caches via their DNS.

Maybe DNS is set to elsewhere?

I joined Afrihost today and I had such good service compared to Webafrica. Pity that your experience sucked but it isn't necessarily representative of what the average person can expect
