Very nice afrihost

So that spoiled your day that badly? I am sure you will get over it.

Schtuff happens.

This does happen on occasion. Closing and re-launching your browser usually fixes this.

It can be due to browser "non-standards" which can misreport the browser to us. We try to cater for the latest releases as best we can.

Just does not give a good impression - you don't want the first thing a customers sees to drive them away - any site with any pop up is a no go for me - ie news24 with there social share crap. Just leaves a bad taste.

Only time a pop like that is valid is if I as user have clicked on something, thus giving explicit permission to pop up - My UI 2 cents of thought

Point taken. Will definitely pass this feedback on to our developers and designers. :)

interesting, are you running some sort of "Internet security" firewall type effort? I know some block things like referrers .. perhaps it's obfuscating your user agent or something..

Perhaps Afrihost should rather make it an "alert" bar that just comes across the top of the screen suggesting they find a different browser or mentioning that if it's detecting incorrectly to ignore the message and carry on :)

Wow, that was quick. Looks like they fixed it. I got the same error on my freshly compiled Chromium Version 20.0.1132.43 (0) - Just logged in to post a screenshot, only to find that I get no warning message. Love it when a company has developers on standby to do the little things that matter :)

Thanks :)

We try our best to cater for all releases and versions of browsers to maintain security and access to features. Glad we're getting it right.
