I hope I can get a response from Afrihost on here!

Our company has 3 domains hosted with Afrihost with email for all our users.

All of a sudden tonight all the inboxes are empty, but the sent, deleted and junk mail folders still have mail when accessing mail via the web interface.

As this was showing in Outlook like this and on the web portal.

Then we tried to log out and login again, but it shows on all email accounts that the quota has been reached and I know for a fact that some of the emails are completely empty and other have an unlimited quota.

So after failing at the web interface, we tried to view our cP, but when clicking hosting in the Afrihost client zone, it shows we have NO packages with Afrihost!

WTF is going on!!

Tomorrow we have a big employee seminar and the address is in the email and now nobody can access their email to make sure of the venue address.

Also the funny thing is when looking at the network hosting status it says everything is fine on their network.

And yet when trying to access the webmail we get:

Internal Server Error

500

User '******' is over quota.

This user has an unlimited quota!!!

User over quota can also signal that an inode limit has been reached if they are limiting inodes.

You have reached the quota of your CPanel account, that's what happens when you use a shared account as an IMAP server.
Get them to up the storage on your account and don't leave all your mail on the mail server.

Why don't you contact Afrihost directly, instead of "naming and shaming" them because your account is full (that's what over-quota means...). This isn't their support desk and I don't think it's fair towards them to make them look bad because you have too many emails. Rather upgrade your account, or delete some unwanted / unnecessary emails.

Uhm... As you can see in my first post my email is not full. That is why i was complaining as my email domain isn't full or reached its quota!!!

But the issue has been sorted out with Afrihost now.

Really sorry about only jumping in here now, not sure why this thread was missed previously :(
If you're still having issues with this, please drop me a PM with a ticket ref# that I can check out for you.

because you guys forgot your core business and only care about ADSL and Mobile data?

I don't believe that is the case, we really care about all our clients. We recently made a whole lot of price innovations in our hosting like unlimited bandwidth on shared hosting and upping specs for our Cloud and Enterprise cloud offerings to make them really awesome. Hosting is still a cornerstone of our business and we'll never forget that.

Well clearly you forgot to even bother to monitor this sub-forum?

And the fact that the OP didn't get any form of support and had to come post here first?

Pricing / package innovations means jack-schitt if you can't back it up with reliability and decent support.

From all of the complaints I've heard about Afrihost _JUST_ on the hosting front in the last 24 months, I really don't believe you when you say it's a cornerstone of your business and you care about your clients.

I personally moved 4 clients away from you due to lack of support and constant downtime and issues.

Now now don't jump down his throat.

As a moderator there is also some threads I do miss on this forum. It is not possible to keep track of all new threads created.

Unless you've got a positronic brain and can afford to sit 24x7 on myBB.

not jumping down his throat, it was a simple rhetorical question pointing out my experience with them in general over the past 2 years.

As a mod your job is quite different to what Afriman's job is. You have the entire site to tend to basically, he doesn't.

With a simple search (http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/search.php?searchid=34988398) you can find 11 threads with the keyword "Afrihost" throughout the entire forum.

Tending to 11 threads is quite easy (and look, this one is 4th from the top)

He is supposed to monitor the forums for his company's keyword (and core business). digitalsolider isn't a new member either, and I'm sure he will exhaust all avenues with Afrihost support through their official channels first, before resorting to a complaint on here.

Even if they don't use the search functionality provided by you to them, all they have to monitor is this sub forum and the ADSL ISP sub forum.

It will then be forvigen if they do miss a post in "Off Topic" or somewhere they don't necessarily frequent. But you'd think since this is a "cornerstone" of their business and what they've been doing for a decade + before ADSL data, that they'd bother visiting a sub-forum that's dedicated to Hosting issues
