Afrihost Hosting Server Down

What's up with Afrihost today?

No emails, no website, server is down. Their Network status says "Medium Impact" - for Afrihost maybe! For the businesses affected this is large/high impact! Been down since 06h30 this morning FFS.

Afriman - any feedback? Any idea when (or even if) it will be fixed? I'm sick & tired of being on hold for support for 50 minutes already.

The outage should be mostly resolved now. We're really sorry about the impact it's had. We mark it as medium as this was still a relatively portion of our total hosting clientele, but we definitely understand the impact to those that were affected.

Servers should be back up now, but if yours isn't, please give me a shout on PM.
 
Same problem here. Been down the whole morning. All my staff are sitting twiddling thumbs since we cannot get out emails and hence orders for customers.

Medium impact my @ss!!
 
We're busy bouncing any servers that are still down from our monitoring. We're hoping that everyone should be up in the next 30mins to an hour. If you're still not up, please PM me and I'll prioritise with our admins :(
 
Same problem here. I have been having endless problems with Afrihost - I think my solution is https://hetzner.co.za/

This is why I left AH, because its more down than up. Their whole service offering was nothing short of shocking.
Go with the small guy or with a reputable company such as Hetzner, you won't regret it.

I moved my own business & personal sites from Afrihost a few years ago due to exactly the same problem - except it took them A WEEK to acknowledge that the server was down. This was in November, a peak sales period for us, & based on prior years the direct loss of sales was in the 100's of thousands of rands. By the time Afrihost had the courtesy to let us know they'd sorted it out (a week later) we'd already moved hosting providers & were up & running within 12 hours from the time we decided to move.

Today's issue impacted my wife's company, who will be moving to domains.co.za - fortunately it happened close to the end of the month, so the obligatory notice period will be given on Monday.

Sorry that I am only getting to your message now. The hosting outage should be pretty much in the past now.

If you're still having problems, please PM ASAP and I'll escalate for you.
