Afrihost hosting wiped out!

Hi,

My hosting with afrihost has literally wiped out all my emails and site data since 9pm and I am still waiting for Afrihost to sort it out. I keep getting told to hold on they're looking into it, but honestly I don't understand what the issue is and I have valuable emails that now seem lost because Cpanel says I don't even have email accounts as yet and my mail clients are popping up errors that the login details dont exist or are incorrect.

This is pathetic. Been using Afrihost for 4.5 years for hosting, mobile, adsl etc and stuck through all their sh-t but this takes the cake.
 
Rule #1 of hosting for emails, don't!

Set it up to forward to a Gmail account. Have being doing this for 8 years after I lost all my emails.
 
Pretty sure they'll have everything backed up on R1Soft

No SA company that I know of delivers true after-hours support, even if they claim they do, so that is not unexpected when you call them at 9pm. The Internet is still seen as 'n toy to play with during office hours here.

On the other hand, if you are using a proper US-based provider and contact them any time day or night, you will get a response within 10 minutes with a solution following shortly afterwards.

There have been at least 10+ threads of Afrihost hosting failing horribly, yet people STILL keep hosting with them.

As jy dom is moet jy *** (not targetting this at OP, but others here have been BURNT time and time again - yet they still refuse to move hosts).

Very sorry to hear this :(
It's very strange that both mail and web content goes missing at the same time.

Backups are available via AfriBackup on cPanel, or our team can manually look through our backups for you too.
I assume you've requested help via our team already though?
