Afrihost + Local only bandwith

local only bandwidth will become obsolete during the course of this year.

uhm because I VPN and trasfer almost 3GB a day from the office to my house? (Office is in ZA)

You can get 30GB local only from OpenWeb or WebAfrica for like R130 !
If you setup your routing tables correctly, you could easily run both your international Afrihost & OpenWeb/WebAfrica accounts simultaneously (with local stuff going through the local only account ofc).

With those local only accounts you should be able to get your full 4Mbps line speed: 24/7.

Since the 90GB local only would cost you almost R500 already, you could get uncapped from like SOAL or another ISP - but that would be limited to only 384kbps I guess.

I'm with Smooth Criminal on this one: could you perhaps reduce the amount of data being transfered between your home & office?

I can't wait to see what uncapped options Afrihost eventually introduce. Considering what they've done in the past, it can only be good, if not revolutionary.

i hope it won't fall totally, just become transparent. if it falls away, why should i have to pay the same to connect to a computer next door as one overseas?
but imo LLU has to happen first

+1. I got the 30gig WA local account. I split my local and international ip's to the accounts. Works well
