Still having problems with MTN coverage, it is really poor.

I have found only one place so far where MTN works better than the other ISPs, and that is in Letaba camp in the KNP.

But I am not there often.

Is this in relation to general coverage or for a specific location? If it's a specific location, I would definitely recommend logging a coverage query.

so you guys just have the contract data? no bundles?

No contracts :)
It's a month - month service, so if you feel you don't need the data next month you can cancel/ pause the account before the 25th of the month.

No complicated bundles, contracts or anything. Just straight awesome data :D

General coverage, MTN is quite poor. Just my experience. IMO Cell C is better, even though they are not great either.

Coverage is very specific to your location. It would definitely vary if you happen to be closer to a Cell C tower or point of presence that to an MTN one. But in general, MTN have excellent coverage in most major cities, suburbs and as well on all the national roads. So it's very possible to have continuous coverage almost everywhere you go, which is a big benefit.

I am talking about general coverage, I have found MTN to be pretty bad.

It is actually difficult to find decent coverage anywhere.

Much, much worse than Vodacom.

I guess it's very specific to each individual's experience and what sort of places you travel to. Since I started using LTE, I've noticed that I get pretty good LTE coverage pretty much all over the major parts of JHB - which is awesome.

I'm not sure about the other members but this hasn't been my experience at all. I was with MTN for 10 years+ before moving to Telkom Mobile (value for money but coverage *is* an issue).

In my experience Mtn network is on average on par with Vodacom. Where I live Mtn is in fact much superior.

I travel around SA a lot, and MTN does not work for me (the sole exception being Letaba in the KNP).

Also does not work in Joburg.

At best only on par with Cell C, not even in same ballpark as Vodacom.

TM seems to be coming on nicely, I have some LTE at home, but only 10% reception. Works well in many other locations.

It really depends. For me MTN is really awesome. At my house I get around 15-20Mbps on LTE and even similar on 3G at times. At my office I get around 35Mbps on a good day on LTE, I know some other people have reported better, up to 45Mbps. I guess it really depends on where you happen to be.

As I said, I am talking about multiple locations. No luck with MTN, cannot recommend them over Cell C.
