If you notice a specific service affected on the MTN, the best place to log that query is Here.

This logs the query directly with MTN, and they'll get someone to investigate ASAP.
Thanks AfriGenie. I'm glad to say that LTE is working normally again today.

Are you getting consistently slow speeds in different locations?

It could be that one tower is currently down or undergoing maintenance which would affect your account from one location, but if you are getting slow speeds from different areas, then we'll need to check the actual sim card and the actual device.
Only at my office in Randburg - thinking there is something wrong with MTNs tower that I'm using.

Okay no, LTE is still broken for me. I will use that form to contact MTN. I used to get 3 bars LTE and now it goes from none to one. I also get frequent timeouts. Something happened last week.

*edit*

Hmmm so I'm wondering. Where can I get someone to install an antenna for me. Does Afrihost or MTN do that?

*edit*

Now late at night I get 2 bars and sometimes 3 again. What would influence my LTE signal during specific times? It would seem that in the evenings when everyone's at home my signal drops. Is that possible?

Was the signal in the area OK previously? What does our coverage map say?

It was always perfect - full HSDPA signal and FAST.

I still have decent signal but the data throughput is shocking.

This is both using the MTN APN and the AH APN.

Speeds in Randburg seem a little better today, not what they were buy a hell of a lot better than they've been for the last week.

Had connection problems as well. Called the call centre, they reprovisioned my sim and with a restart all is well.

Can't connect in PE, and when it was connecting, had perfect HSDPA signal but throughput shocking aswell, slower than EDGE!

Pretty much the same experience in Durban aswell, so don't blame the tower!

@AfriGuy can I get some feedback to my PM please? Using MTN as a backup is extremely costly, and if you guys aren't willing to help then I may as well cancel and take out a bundle directly through them...

Sorry about the delays :(
I replied to your PM a few mins ago.

Hmmm...connection seems much faster this week (Rondebosch cape town). Been able to stream youtube and browse without pause. Hope it stays this way :).

Any issues with the data network this morning? My sister ( I've given her my mifi and 1gb promo SIM ) is having issues downloading books to her kindle over it.

I can tell you one thing, contacting MTN through that form is a waste of time. I got a reply that my area is well covered by their network.

They didn't bother to read my query at all. So they said I should phone their technicians to find out how to set up the right settings for my device.

Thank you MTN.

Luckily my connection has been better. Still get fluctuating pings for some reason. The signal seems to be like a wave, up and down the whole time. I wonder if something is interfering with the signal there by me. However it is better now than when I originally contacted them.

My phone picked up LTE signal in my area for the first time earlier this week too :D Glad you've noticed an improvement.

Can't see any issues from my end, are you still having troubles with the connection?
