I found switching off for a minute and cursing at the router worked for me!

Can you please at least tell us what the issue appears to be/has been. Never in 15yrs of cellphone useage have I experienced such extended down time, I was offline completely/no service for 3 days, now it's just the data that's intermittent.

Got a feeling it's some kind of backend dispute between Afrihost and the team at Mtn, a bit of cloak and daggers.

definitely not a dispute, but a backend technical issue which I think only the most senior engineers could explain accurately. But something related to very advanced networking that went a bit pear shaped and some users were affected by this
