There's definitely something not right, ran a ping n - 20 l - 500 afrihost.com and I had 55% packet loss
South Africa’s biggest forum. Discuss, discover, and connect with thousands of members.
What is your current MMS settings?
Link to these Cell C deals?Performance is seriously bad today, even by MTN standards.
Could the Afrihost rep please look into this and get us a proper answer (i.e. some acknowledgement of the probelm and what's being done about it)?
That new CellC deal is starting to look like a better proposition.
Link to these Cell C deals?
I'm keen!
I moved to the cellc deal already and end of month my afrihost is going to the 500mb package screw it I had enough.
Here you go http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadband/159011-massive-cell-c-mobile-data-price-cuts.html
Can't get cell c where I am![]()
Then you can roam on the famous Vodacom 3G network at CellC rates, bonus.
I have moved my main internet connection to the R1000/100GB CellC deal. Speed is about the same as the Afrihost connection and a damn site more stable! Getting 100GB for about 50% more than I paid for R20GB of Afrihost data and no issues or expiring data.
Really considering going Prepaid @66c/min and loading a R1000/100GB data bundle to last me the year on my Cell. It will work out MUCH cheaper than the Afrihost Mobile deal and you don't have all the underhanded changes and products sales points that don't work (expiring data and Auto Top ups) that we have been through with Afrihost
Morning guys! I understand that there has been some frustration around your Mobile Connections, but, this is still an Afrihost thread and if could keep discussions primarily around Afrihost products, that would be great.![]()
Spot on, also I don't like having to say this, they seem like helpful guys but Afrihost reps on the forum largely are just doing lip service in regard to support on their mobile products. I was offline for 4 days, they did zip despite me pming both reps. Seems to be the case for many others, you just have to sweat it out till the problem mysteriously goes away. This is a thread for people you need mobile data and use/have used/might use Afrihost.
When Afrihost don't meet our needs/ be straight with us/deal with our tech issues/offer what they say they will, then we start to look around. The facts of the matter are that the market has changed (as it always does) and there are now cheaper offerings. My opinion, based on my experience is that Afrihost no longer offers the attractive package that we were sold and the most certainly haven't offered me the kind of user experience that I expected.
Just like I have told people and clients about your offering and sold many of them on it, when it no longer meets my needs, or their needs then I will tell them about what the new best thing is. This includes fellow forumites.
I'm sure the_unbeliever the OP of this thread won't mind if we chat about our experiences and potential solutions to the issues Afrihost is causing in our lives.
If you would like a channel for marketing Afrihost products exclusively rather than one for the benefits of you clients then I'm sure you can create one and see how many people join.
