Down again, MTN working. Story of my life. May as well just cancel and take out an MTN bundle since it seems to at least work...
 
I'd seriously consider Afrihost plus if it zero-rated Showmax and Netflix, that would surely cause a stir in the industry ;)

That would be awesome to see, but I think the product itself is still a little young :(
But you never know, Gian might walk into the office one day and drop some legend bombs :p
 
That bombs not going to drop lol. Zero rate Showmax would be 100GB plus a month, not happening on mobile. Connections poor again, I would normally suspect its congestion on the tower with this work not work behaviour but MTN apn works so I don't know what's happening.

Hey Stevewarren! Zero rating streaming services is definitely an awesome concept... Perhaps this kind of thing could be lined up in the future! ;)

Are you still seeing poor mobile speeds? Any tests that I could take a look at?

Is there any traffic that is zero rated at the moment?
 
Just a query, a friend was using a MTN Pre-Pay SIM with Afrihost data but has cancelled his data and wishes to port his number to Cell C. The Afrihost cancellation date give was 31st May.

Are there any restrictions (i.e. time wise) in porting his number after 31st May?

If he just had data with Afrihost, there won't be any restrictions in place that would affect the migration. :)
 
Same here. Well, it was slow a while ago. Then is stopped working, and after rebooting my router, I can't even establish a connection.

All is fine with my other Afrihost sim (in my phone), however.

What is the SIM that's not working using? Is is APN on an MTN SIM or an Afrihost issued SIM?
 
My internet been totally crap for three weeks, it's so frustrating because it's my only option.

Really sorry to hear about your ongoing struggle here Stevewarren. :( Have you noticed a degraded mobile signal in your area, perhaps? Please PM me your account username.
 
Back when all the ****ty service started happening earlier this month, I decided not to cancel but to convert to pre paid.

It showed on my Afrihost App for a while that the change was pending and then now when I checked again it doesn't have the Notice.

How would I know what the status is, as support is also not replying.

Thanks for the update.

I was just concerned as the App and the Clientzone.afrihost.com portal used to show that the contract was flagged for changing, but that suddenly disappeared. Thus leaving me wondering why and if it is still in the works.

Suggest that you leave that useful information in.
 
Second month running that my data doesn't refresh on the 1st of the month. Anyone else have this problem?

And with the holiday it might be Tuesday before Support sees my email. Unless Afrisomeone see this?!

Also, for some reason around the 25th of April I started really struggling to get 4G - I had been getting it ok, albeit with a weak signal, but my little Poynting was doing the trick. It did seem to coincide with me running out of data and then having to top up. I wonder if the router (B593) then connected to a different tower or something. Problem is with that router you can't see which cell you're connecting to.
