Sorry guys but I'm going to have to downgrade my package next month, last week left a bad taste in my mouth. Its working better now but it must of been something your side or MTN and considering they own you I don't see the difference. Just going to have to hope Telkom finally gets ADSL here, not much chance. :(

Sorry to hear you'll be leaving us :(
We truly feel that the issues from last week are resolved though.

Last night I tried to play division and couldn't connect, and then bam bandwidth notice and somehow used 300MB. Mythical air megs, let me give some context you can usually play for about 4 hours with 300 MB. Must of been insane packet loss or I don't know. I have noticed my usage has gone up by about 100MB-150MB a day, where I usually use 400MB-500MB a day its been topping out at 600MB-800MB a day. Since last week.

Morning Stevewarren! Usage can often be very tricky to pinpoint and you might find that it can spike sometimes due to services that you're not always aware are running in the background. You can check your usage logs in ClientZone, but these will not show what your data is being used on. To be more specific, you'll probably need to download some sort of bandwidth monitoring software like Netimiter or WireShark.

I think most of us use Afrihost Mobile because it's been both cheap and reliable.

With other networks offering 100GB annually for R999 you are no longer cheap, you're three times the price!
Last week proved that you are no longer that reliable!

We're always looking to improve where we can, and I still firmly believe we're extremely competitive :)
What does the 100GB deal entail? Happy to see if we can possibly learn a thing or two.

The 100GB of data is for one year and costs R999. So no carry over each month as it's an annual bundle and there no special time constraints within which you must use it either, well except within 12 months of course!

Is it 100GB/ month or 100GB for your 12 month period?
Contracts generally do see lower pricing - I guess it's entirely up to you if you want to be locked in for a full 12 months. I personally try and stay away from it :)

ping is better but speeds are more or less the same. I think I must get DSL now

:(
Latency is pretty tough to guarantee on Mobile networks due to the nature of the infrastructure. If stable pings/ latency are important DSL/ fibre is deffos the way to go :)

100gb for R999 to use within 12 months, no monthly allocations or limits. No contract obligation either. Just one big stonking bundle of data that works out at R10/gb.

That is a pretty good deal :)
I'm sure you can look forward to some improvements on the Mobile side from us though - we're always looking to get better!
