What is wrong in Pretoria?
In Garsfontein the signal breaks off every 10 minutes for a minute or two.
It is even difficult to browse.

I don't know of a specific issue in the area? Are you using APN or Afrihost SIM access? Drop me a PM - we may need to refer this MTN's coverage team if there is a signal issue in the area :(

Hi ... please forgive me if this is a doff question...

In ADSL IPC constrained areas, would the Afrihost mobile offerings also be affected until the capacity upgrades are completed or is the AH mobile a completely different kettle of fish?

I'm sure this has been covered several times, but hope i will get answered anyway.

I received one of the original MiFi devices along with a sim card.
As far as i know those first sims weren't LTE enabled.

Can the MiFi device make use of LTE coverage and if it can, what am I to do to have it activated?

Apparently now they can provision the old SIM cards. I also received the old SIM card with the MiFi, cancelled - ordered again recently and automatically without any request they sent me the LTE.

No, Mobile data connects directly to the MTN network - there is no IPC component. That is only due to us needing to "break out" of Telkom's network for DSL.

To my knowledge they are not, unless they were nano SIMs, because of the 128k requirement for LTE to be provisioned.

Also, remember that the E5331 MiFi's are up to 3G only, and not LTE capable.

Afriman - any possibility of allowing porting within the near future? Basically buying one of your sims as a Payasyougo sim with my number ported. MTN don't sell nano Payasyougo sims so at the moment I'm pretty stuck with buying your data. I could get a micro sim and cut it up, but thats not ideal..

Worst download speedtest I have ever seen recorded with my eyes!

I have the 3 G displaying

Decided to run another speedtest - amazing results as always Afrihost Mobile wins this battle with other service providers I had the privilege testing out

I don't that's an option at the moment, cos we're only providing data only SIMs (though I'm sure networks can provision SIMS anyway they like). At the moment, porting hasn't really been much of a priority for those reasons, cos people would mainly want to port becuase they want to keep a number - and with data only the number is pretty much irrelevant :(
