Afrihost Mobile Feedback Thread

Yesterday I discovered a couple of things.

1) if there is only edge around then I get no throughput at all on Afrihost Mobile.

2) there were parts yesterday where I was around full 3g coverage but once again nothing no data would come through.

Then switched back to normal mtn at exact same location; no issues.

Had this happen in: Durbanville, Table View and Blouberg yesterday.

Are you forcing the device onto 3G or something like that?

Also is this a "it never works" scenario or is the just around your house?

Here you go for all to see and ponder on ;)

Everyone assumed you were referring to the colours on the MiFi device. All I have seen on the PC was greyed out because the signal is to weak where I am.

Oh man, this might sound crazy. Yesterday house mates was watching movie over WiFi (connected to the MiFi to my PC), movie was about 700MB. Data I had was 2.6GB. Upon checking now.

Can anyone connect his two PC's and copy a movie or something substantial over the MiFi network and then check his data in a few hours time?

Took it to a friend in town, stuck it into the USB port, software installed super quick and easy - online in seconds.
Downloaded Steam and some games through it at between 2-7mbps even though unit reported poor signal quality. (The 3G rating varied between 0 and 1 Blue bars mostly).

Mega impressed with the Afrihost Mifi experience.

1 or both pc's probably updated from the internet?

Nope. Windows updates switched both on both PC's. Antivirus (Avast) up to date. No one was using Internet usage besides me being on CS online for 30 mins.

Can you drop me all the details in a PM and we'll take a look :(

There any app concerned with the network and devices conncected and configuration of sorts for the MiFi?

Nope not forcing it onto anything.

Wasn't around home when I tested it. Was in 3 different areas and same thing.

Tonight at home my phone was on 3g but my Afrihost couldn't connect higher than 2g. Weird this only started yesterday.
