Just phone Afrihost now. The consultant said that looking at another 72 hours for delivery of sim only deal. I am going to assume this to be working hourse so next week sometime then I suppose. :-(

If this turns out to be true I'm going to cancel this thing now. Why can't we just go to a shop and buy the sim? I needed this data yesterday already. Now I'm going to be forced to spend even more money on 8ta data in the meantime.

House mate not impressed. She does not know what to do now. Will they just come back the next day if she is not at the delivery address on the waybill?

Also live in Durbanville (near Graanendaal) and depending on which side of the couch I site, I get between 3G and Edge.

Anyone else having issues with the the mifi not "passing on* the connection?
It shows bars and 3G on the Android app but when I try to connect my phone to it I get a z" sign into Wifi" message and it redirects to 192.168.1.1. If I log in there I have to manually connect to the network. Even then the connection is erratic. The wifi ans cell connections seem food, just can't get devices to talk to the mifi.
It is running the new firmware and is locked to 3G

I finished all my data in approx 2hours and 45minutes roughly but in clientzone it says I still have data but there was no throughput

That's no good. Please drop me a PM with your MiFi or SIM serial number. Let's make sure everything is working as it should :)

If you change it onto the manual setting, it won't always automatically connect. You can change to 3G and then change it back to Auto for it to connect automatically again.

However, we don't really recommend the 3G only setting, the device is configured by default for best overall experience and for varying 2G and 3G signal

Bulding structures - walls, metal, etc have an effect on radio waves. You'll find that many buildings with probably have dead spots and hotspots. Just gotta find where they are with trial and error :)

I get decent speeds around 8mb, but youtube streaming is almost non-existant.

Is streaming shaped during business hours? I also notice I often get disconnected from gtalk and reconnect about 5 seconds later. Other connections remain connected though.

I don't experience either of these problems on 8ta or cellc.

Any ideas?

Hmm, only today do I get bad YouTube streaming. Frustrating. Something is definitely up.

Afriman?

There is definitely no shaping. Strange that you'd get that, but maybe latency is higher than usual. We'd need to look into that to check.

Drop me a PM :(
