Working ok for us again. :)

Edit: sigh, having issues again.

I'm still having packet loss issues. It was fine on Monday but bad the rest of the time. It kind of feels that the support you get from Afrihost is great but then once it's sent to MTN you never hear anything again.

Also, most of my problems are from international sites.

In fact if I run a speedtest here at MyBroadband I get 20Mbps download locally but 6Mbps download speeds internationally. Is that normal?

I get pings of 20ms to mybroadband.co.za but on average about 600ms to cracked.com of which a certain percentage times out.

I've paused my Mobile 3 package wef 1 Jan 2014 to 28 Feb 2014 as I still have 8ta data available which expires at the end of Feb.

Noticed the following note on the screen:

Please note: Account Pauses are only effective from a future date for which you have
not pre paid service. i.e. Since you have already paid for this month, even if you select
today as the start date, your account pause will only be effective from the 1st of next
month.

You can however choose a date such as the 7th of the next month as your start date.

You will be billed the full amount of your account when un-paused.

I'm just worried about the bold part in red. Does that mean I will still be billed for January & February??

No.

You will be billed the full month of whatever month you activate it in. If you activate it on 27 February, they'll bill you the full amount of February on that date.

Will I then get my full data allocation for that month?

They're the ones that can give us more feedback as to what the problem could be and where the issue is, so we need to pass on the results in some cases. Can you PM me both a local and an international traceroute if you are still having problems.
We'll try get feedback for you.

As Id13 said, you won't be billed for the months you "missed" just the month you activate the service on. If you activate it on the 27th of February, you get charged the full amount and you get all the data. This is the system at the moment.

It's hard to get an ETA for improved coverage, MTN do their best though.

EUGH mine was dead for about an hour from 11AM
