Am I the only way who is struggling with the afrihost apn? Haven't been able to activate it all day

Mine was working 100s untill about 10mins ago. Apn in both phones still work but my lte router won't authenticate.

Edit: my bad.... ran out of data :)

Ok, got my sim, put it in vodafone k4305, it showing as on MTN network on EDGE(to be expected in bad area, moving tomorrow).

I'm on Windows 8.1, what do I need to do to connect?
Select APN = Afrihost, username\password, Authentication = ?

Not seeing any general complaints about APN or SIM access today. Have you checked that your settings haven't reverted to old ones?

Just need to change the APN to afrihost. No username and password required :)
 
been having issues this hole week, I have been capped but I have cap left.Had to call 2 times now so they can reset my account so that it does not show the capped pages.Now it disconnects me after 2 min every time ... its only the afrihost sim as my mtn is working fine... gRR on the phone now holding for ages :P

Have Afrihost shut their support ticket system down? Over 24 hours and still no reply!

Definitely not. However, our ticket response is pretty slow over the last few days. It's month end queries and joburg weather has many lines down since yesterday.

We've had a few issues like this recently. We're reviewing our authentication process and trying to find out why some clients keep getting this.

Strange, cos it's never happened to me yet and I use my MiFi in the car pretty much everyday :(
 
been unable to access anything since last night, I get a message to top up my data as I've got nothing left but when I check in the client zone I still have about 2.4GB left, logged a ticket around lunch time but no response, just a tad frustrating
 
Someone at afrihost need to adjust their internal clock by +1 hour. "Cancel before the 25th" should mean just that, not "cancel before 23:00 on the 24th". Also noticed cancellation requests getting actioned an hour or so before the official end of the month... although I still need to confirm this.
It should mean this indeed, did you cancel a bit before and saw errors/ issues?
Around cancelation of the accounts, it's a system process that runs at midnight - shouldn't see early cancellations here.
I'm still looking into this, but clients of mine have mentioned getting confirmation of cancellation emails an ~hour+ before 00:00 of the new month and that these accounts in question then go all missing from the control panel once they have received these emails. I'll only be able to test this myself in January.

Had to wait for January's demise... and here we are!

I am now convinced that some internal clock @ afrihost is a wee bit out. Got 2 cancellation emails just after 22:00 for 2 adsl products I killed for this experiment of mine. Just before I got the 2 emails I took this screenshot where one can see the two red dots right at the top:

After I got the cancellation emails I refreshed my control panel and I saw my 2 capped accounts were missing:

I did not have the password for the one account at hand so I refreshed the account panel itself that I kept open to see if it would still allow me to retrieve the password or re-activate the account etc etc, but I was greeted with a page like this without any of the buttons that would allow me access to the needed info:

It would not allow me to do anything with my account anymore. Luckily I had the password at hand for the other capped account and I managed to connect to this account without a problem. I downloaded a 200mb odd file to make sure I do not cap the account and then at about 23:00 I decided to disconnect and reconnect the account to test if the radius server would still allow me access. It would not:

Accounts are seemingly canceled too early imo. I should have access to my account that I paid for till 23:59:59 on the last day of the month. I suspect that the same is happening to the mobile products, but this would be a test for another day.

Finally, got my connection working. It's a pity the coverage map is worthless. Showed I'm in a 3G signal area. but only getting edge :(
