Just a question.

How come Topups are basically double the price per gig than the monthly data. 10gig + 10gig subscription is R497 and a 10gig Topup is R990?

The topups are at a fixed price, that is a bit more expensive - but remember the product you're referring to here is a special :) It's preferable to upgrade to a package that's better suited to you as opposed to topping up every month.

Yes I realise that it is a special but still if you take the free 10gig away it is 10gig for R497 compared to the 10gig for R990 Topup.
Correct me if I'm wrong but AFAIK there is no upgrade to the 10gig + 10 gig package? :)

I do understand where you're coming from, but the topups will always be more expensive :( I'm sure it'll equalise out like our Capped topups have, but nothing for the near future.

And indeed, we do have a 10 + 10GB package available - R497/ month :)

Relax, was just wondering what the reason was. Haha I already have a Mobile 10 package. :)

Difficult to ask a question like this and convey a relaxed tone about it with text. But no worries, I'm just a curious fellow. In fact I'm very happy with Afrihost mobile. :)

I'm uber chilled :D
Glad to hear you're happy dude!

Is it possible to upgrade packages during the month ,and get pro rate data on the new package?

I'm finding I'm using more than I thought, but not sure if its because I'm travelling :p (radio streaming)

Indeed it is :)
All the upgrades can be done via the ClientZone, which will confirm the pro-rata amount before you accept the upgrade.

I also need to upgrade since I'm using more data than usual now. When I went to do the upgrade on Clientzone it states that the upgrade will be effective as of 1st April?

Upgrades should change at the end of the month if you are on a d it order, if im not mistaken :) however, you should be able to top up immediately.

Upgrades, as long as their done before the 25th, should go through immediately and a pro rata amount charged. This won't work if you're downgrading however. i.e moving to a lower speed uncapped account or from uncapped to capped as far as I know.

@Zertop being on debit order shouldn't make a difference ;)

Edit: just realised this is the mobile thread and uncapped doesn't apply. In this case, debit order may be a factor after all as Zertop has mentioned.

Thanks Zertop, I did the upgrade (I make payment by CC) and got pro-rata amount of data allocated immediately.

If Afrihost would make a Mobile 20 package (20 gig + 20 gig free) for R990 I would be on that like white on rice. :)

Anybody agree?
