Wait... WHAT!? :D

You are getting literally 2ms to google.co.za - not possible on mobile :D (And definitely not possible if you are complaining of lag :P ) Please try another to thinkbroadband.com :-)

EDIT: Waaaaiiittt.... Didn't I read a few days ago about D3 server issues? Ill try find it

EDIT2: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/10218662808 - might be related to an undersea cable breakage up in the UK between the Blizzard Servers?

Yes I'm aware that blizzard has problems but as said in my previous post my MTN connection is fine and I play smoothly, but as soon as I switch to afrihost gameplay goes down

Oh of course. Uhmm...

Try PMing Afriman :) He'll sort you out

Anyone else with a very slow connection the last two days? I'm in cpt, southern suburbs. Phoned AH tech support last night & they reported no problem on their end but this connection is really dodgy at the moment. Can't do much of anything. I've had no change in hardware / software that might affect this.

I am having on and off connection problems when I connect it sometimes fails to connect: Connection terminated then hour later it works again

Hi Afriguy or Afriman, I have a little problem with Afrihost mobile...
I use it for playing Diablo 3 and recently I can't play at all, the latency ingame is very high which causes major lag an unplayability.
I have an alternative connection that is MTN and I can play fine with excellent signal, but I can't play with it all the time due to very low cap.
I use the same device for either sim cards to connect.
And as I understand you and MTN use the same towers, so why can't the signal be the same?
Please help me! Because if this continues as it is I have no choice but to cancel

I got your PM and we chatted about this there. It's really difficult to tell. Let's see if the account refresh sorted it out when you play later.

It's hard to really use traceroutes for Mobile. The contributing factors all have huge margins of variance, so the test could show a lot, or just show a moment when reception flutters. It's very different from DSL troubleshooting :(

I have played for about 15min and eventually quit out of frustration, I can't see any change

Me and DTBA are playing together and we have the same issue,we found a temporary sollution by hopping from one Diablo server to another and hoping we to get good latency. A speed test still reveals that the ping is very high which seems to be the problem, imo.

Jaco has it spot on afriman seems that some of the diablo server has high ping.

Now this is very hard to plot. Diablo servers are hosted all over the EU so we just keep joining till we have one with under 300 ms ping.

This must be routing issues somewhere, we both lag in the same server but the other guys with ADSL and vodacom is fine. Me and Jaco are about 800km from each other so we can rule out tower congestion or that its a problem with just one of our modems.

It rules down to international. Now how to prove its MTN/afrihost I have no clue and how to you will be able to fix even less.My local pings are fine its just some of the Diablo servers that we get 2300ms + but if we switch over to our mtn its fine on all the servers.

I will be ask a Diablo 3 tech to list my all the places that they host server's and I will ping them.

When I play any game through 3G I always have to play an additional radio station for it to be lag free.
Ultima Online without radio = LAG
Ultima Online playing the 24Kbps Radio Paradise Stream = LAG free

Some games does not move enough traffic to force the modem to switch over to HSDPA+ and it would rather stay on 3G wish gives you a horrible ping,
But newer games like dota 2 move way more data and the modem will switch over to HSDPA
